Oakdene Lodge is a well-received cottage offering a quiet, spacious, and dog-friendly environment with a secure garden. Guests appreciate the ample space, well-equipped kitchen, and the property's suitability for families and less mobile visitors. The welcoming hosts and thoughtful touches, including a Dorset Apple Cake, are frequently mentioned. While some guests note the need for updates and a deep clean, the overall experience is positive, with the location being ideal for exploring the Dorset and Hampshire coasts and the New Forest.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and fresh, with fresh flowers and a welcoming atmosphere. However, a few guests mentioned that certain areas, such as the garden furniture and piano room, could benefit from a deep clean.
The location is praised for its proximity to local attractions, a great pub, and walking paths, making it an excellent base for exploring the surrounding areas. Despite being off a main road, the interior is described as quiet.
Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with very comfortable beds and multiple sitting rooms. However, some guests noted that the beds were small and the shower temperamental, suggesting room for improvement in comfort.
The property is well-equipped with a variety of utensils and facilities for a comfortable stay. Nonetheless, comments about the need for updates, particularly in the showers and outdoor lounge area, indicate that maintenance could be enhanced.
The hosts are frequently commended for their thoughtfulness, with special mentions of the welcome pack including cake and dog biscuits. While these gifts are warmly received, it should be noted that such offerings are at the hosts' discretion and may not be guaranteed.

A good sized property, perfect for a family gathering with ground floor facilities making it suitable for less active visitors as there is no need to use the stairs. Plenty of parking spaces about 40 yards away, but the owner kindly allowed us to park in his private driveway due to my difficulty with mobility.I believe that dogs are allowed here, so the flooring is easily cleanable, which also saves anxiety about muddy shoes and children. There are two sitting rooms, saving arguments about whether to watch tv or not! Easy access for Wimborne and about 10 miles from Poole. Very nice pub which serves food, minutes from the property.

We had a wonderful family stay at Oakdene Lodge. 3 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs. Plenty of room for us all and a secure garden for dogs. Lovely large kitchen which accommodated us all at meal time. One day was a very wet day, but lots of games available and the piano kept the children occupied. Highly recommend. Steve was helpful when I arrived, carried my bag and helped with key entry.
