Arrival Information: Darwin Escapes check-in’s are available from 16:00. If you are likely to arrive later than 18:00, please call our resort reception team on to let them know.
Departure Information: Check out time is at 10:00am on the day of your departure. Darwin Escapes kindly ask that you leave your accommodation as you found it.
Travel Cot Hire: You can request a travel cot on your booking. Please note you must bring your own mattress and bedding for the cot. Unfortunately travel cots do not fit in any double/masters bedrooms of Sandymouth’s static caravan accommodation. If your accommodation will have an unused twin room during your stay, the resort may be able to remove the beds and create a space, please call our reception team.
Pets: Please make sure that you have included your pet in your booking. If your pet is not included, Darwin Escapes will either relocate you to a pet-friendly lodge, if there is one available, or holds the right to refuse access to the resort. You may be liable for any charges incurred.
Resort Facilities: Sandymouth’s facilities are currently working at a reduced capacity and pre-booking for any activities or food at the restaurant is essential. Please book by calling the resort reception.
Additional Information: Please note access to the near-by Sandymouth Bay Beach is a steep walk and is not suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Please read Darwin Escapes’ park rules found here.
Group Bookings/Party Types: A security deposit may be requested on arrival. Group bookings are not permitted on-site in December unless pre-approved by the park.
Work Parties: No Work vehicles or Workwear will be permitted on site. Un-authorised Work Parties will not be allowed to stay.

Arrival Information: Check-in is available from 16:00 although you are welcome to arrive earlier. To make your check in as smooth, quick and easy as possible, we’d like to request you call ahead for specific arrival information and to inform our reception team of your car registration number in advance of your arrival, particularly if you’re arriving outside of normal working hours. Please contact the resort reception on 01288 352 563.
Travel cot hire: You can request a travel cot on your booking. Please note, there is no bedding provided and the mattresses are folding, thin and firm and is provided by manufacturer. We require you to follow the safety instructions, which state not to use a secondary mattress or any padded bedding such as pillows or quilts. You must bring your own bedding (e.g infant sleep bags). Please contact reception for mattress dimensions should you require. For further information on safe sleeping in travel cots please refer to information available from sites such as the Lullaby Trust. Important travel COT information Manufacturers instructions are provided at the point of issue and cots are cleaned in line with these after each use. Please also be aware that travel cots may not fit in double/master bedrooms in selected units, please call reception on 01288 352563 for more information if a cot is needed.
Departure Information: Please ensure you leave the accommodation by 09:00am on your day of departure however you are more than welcome to use the facilities all day.
Pets: Please note, if you are planning on bringing your pet or animal on holiday, this must be included in your party make up when booking. If you arrive on holiday with an undeclared pet/animal, the park operators are entitled to either relocate you to suitable pet/animal-friendly accommodation (if available) or refuse access to the Park. You may also be liable for any Pet charge, cleaning costs and/or relocation costs incurred. Please check with the retreat prior to including any extra pets. Any pets arriving undeclared could be asked to leave the retreat if there is no pet accommodation available.

We aim to always assist you in making the most of your holiday and wanted to advise of essential maintenance work being carried out on the park on Tuesday the 7th June. The park have advised that the work being carried out will cause the water supply to stop for around an hour. The Park have assured us they will try their best to keep any disruptions to a minimum and will be on hand to assist with any enquiries if required. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

We’re excited to share that from 6th May to 3rd June 2025, we’ll be busy building something truly special — our brand new Pirate-Themed Play Area, set to launch in late-June 2025!
During this time, the outdoor play park area will be closed to allow for the construction work. However, there’s still plenty of fun to be had! Our outdoor splash area and indoor play area will remain open as usual, ensuring your family still has plenty of space to play and make memories.

Overall a satisfactory stay. They were some excellent facilities which would really temp me to return and with a few updates this would be fantastic holiday site. Pros: Excellent location, just a 10 minute drive from Bude. Facilities for children are excellent, a great indoor pool and soft play. There is also an outdoor splash pad but this was out of action in the Easter break. Evening entertainment a great addition. Enjoyed playing bingo and the quizzes, mini disco and kids bingo, pool table and gaming machines to suit kids of all ages. Cons (and despite the many pros they are big cons):Cleanliness, unfortunately this was substandard in my opinion, there were crumbs on the floor, bedding had a strange smell, shower had mold and all utensils which were provided needed a good clean before use (cutlery, glasses, plates and kitchen equipment was not clean).The static caravan we were in was very dated, the kitchen and bathrooms really need to be replaced, the surface coating on the kitchen and bathrooms cupboards was peeling off to reveal the chipboard below. The toilet seat in the bathroom was not the correct size for the seat so slipped to the side in every use. Sofas were stained and well worn and a curtain rail was hanging down when we arrived. I'm addition to this, the oven worked fine, although cooked very slowly but we could not get the grill to work at all. And in previous years we have always had a tumble dryer setting on the washing machine. This was missing on this occasion so drying clothes and towels was very difficult and we returned with a suitcase of clean but damp clothing.I know we could have requested a further clean and called out maintenance to enable staff to rectify these issues however, travelling with 4 children and another family we were rarely in and to be honest we just wanted to enjoy our holiday. I really didn't want to spend time queuing at reception (and there was a very long queue on our arrival day.All in all some great facilities for families and children especially, but the cleanliness and state of the caravan would really make me think twice about booking again.
