About this property

Gunnislake 2.3 miles. Resting in Honicombe Park in Cornwall and enjoying lovely views of the Cornish and Devonshire countryside is this lovely lodge, Hembry Meadows. With on-site facilities and plenty of home comforts to enjoy, the lodge is perfect for a family getaway to a beautiful area. On arrival at the property, off-road parking makes unloading your belongings a breeze, before stepping into the open-plan living space, sure to be social hub of the home. The kitchen area is well-equipped with everything you need to rustle up delicious family dinners, as well as a handy dishwasher to help with the clean-up. From here, gather at the dining table with ample seating to catch up on the day's adventures over a home-cooked meal, before sinking into the stylish sofas to watch a film on the Smart TV. Completing the ground floor is two bedrooms, a double and a twin, and a shower room, making this property ideal for a multi-generational family holiday. Upstairs, catch some rest in the remaining two bedrooms, another double and another twin, each with TVs, ahead of another busy day of exploring. Warmer months can be spent out in the garden, home to a picnic bench and a barbecue, giving you an alternative dining arrangement for dinner and wine in the last of the summer sun. Take advantage of the facilities on the Honicombe Park site, which range from tennis courts and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, to children's play areas and archery lessons. You can even dine out with the nearby restaurant, and stock up on your essentials at the local shop. Alternatively, visit Callington, a nearby town with a fantastic selection of shops, pubs, and eateries, as well as attractions such as the 15th-century St Mary's Church, the Pannier Market, and the wonderful mural project. For the more active, there are miles of walks in the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or spend an afternoon at Cotehele, a National Trust property. Cross the county line and into Plymouth for a day of shopping and plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose from. The Harbour Seafood Restaurant and Takeaway is a great place to enjoy fresh seafood, and there are plenty of other attractions in this historic and beautiful city, including the National Marine Aquarium, Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park, and Devil's Point. Hembry Meadows is a superb choice for a memorable break to Cornwall.

Gunnislake is a small rural village located on the steeply forested banks of the Tamar River. It has a couple of village pubs and a few shops. Notably, the village is located at one end of the picturesque Tamar Valley Railway, which provides regular services along the river bank to Plymouth. The area is ideal for exploring Dartmoor, the beaches of Cornwall's south and north coasts, and the attractions of Cornwall's west coast.

Unfortunately due to weather conditions we had wet towels. The towel rails in the bathroom s weren’t working. Maybe a hairdryer would have been useful. Lovely site with all year round pool. Shop on site very restricted but a Tesco shop near by was perfect. The pub on site was good for meals and handy. We also used the local train station to go into Plymouth. The donkey park was nice. The children s park on site had no swings for the younger children. All in all we had a good holiday.

Surprised at how homely and welcoming it was properties like this are usually very basic but this is a real home from home. Superb, we hope to return.

Couldn't get the tin opener to work and a couple of the single mattresses could do with replacing - would probably be fine for kids but we could feel the springs. Otherwise it was a perfect! Loved the jukebox. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. Sofas were comfortable. Nice and clean. Fab location. Would recommend visiting Looe. Thank you!
