About this property

Gunnislake 2.2 miles. Resting upon Honicombe Park in St. Ann's Chapel, Cornwall, is Wren's Nest, a fabulous, single-storey lodge. Benefitting from access to a range of on-site facilities, including a restaurant, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a gym, whilst resting near the Tamar Valley AONB, Wren's Nest offers a delightful base for a family break; six guests and a furry companion are invited. Park up off-road before heading indoors, firstly reaching the spacious living/dining room, complete with a plush corner sofa, a wall-mounted Smart TV, and dining space to gather as a group. Continue through to the kitchen, fully-equipped for a self-catering stay with a range of state-of-the-art appliances; prepare meals and dine indoors, or take advantage of your enclosed patio, where you can bask in the sunshine and dine alfresco. After a fun-filled day, catch some rest in one of the three bedrooms on offer, including a king-size with Smart TV, and two twins, serviced by a bathroom. Awaken to explore the park and its facilities, before heading to The Tamar Valley Donkey Park for a family-friendly day out, or to tour the nearby National Trust property of Cotehele, brimming with history and pretty gardens, whilst the Tamar Trails Centre is a recommended stop off for outdoor enthusiasts, offering various walking, cycling and watersport activities. Nearby you'll also locate the Adrenalin Quarry, offering an array of activities whilst enveloped by stunning views, or pack your walking boots and traverse across the Golitha Falls National Nature Reserve. Travel north to reach Launceston and its amenities, practise your swing at the Launceston Golf Club, or spend the afternoon at Trethorne Leisure Park, whilst the coast is within driving distance, possible to pass through Polperro Heritage Coast, Looe, Fowey, and many more coastal villages and towns. Experience a family getaway at Wren's Nest.

Gunnislake is a small village on the Tamar River. It has a few shops and pubs. The picturesque Tamar Valley Railway runs from the village to Plymouth along the riverbank. The area is ideal for visiting Dartmoor, the south and north coast beaches, and Cornwall's far west. The Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT) are within reach, and Tavistock, with its pannier market, pubs, and restaurants, and Calstock, a fishing village known for its crafts and festivals, are also nearby.

On arrival there was no check in which meant we could go direct to the lodge. The lodge was lovely, clean and tidy and suitable for a wheel chair user although the toilet is separate to the bathroom and quite compact but that didn't affect our stay. Provided with lovely clean fluffy towels and decent bedding. We could not have asked for anything else during this stay - everything you could possibly need was provided and the extra's provided were a really nice touch. Will definitely recommend and looking to book again next year!!

Perfect for our needs and lovely location between Callington and Tavistock. Only slight issue was the lack of parking...nearest spots were a couple of hundred yards away if you got lucky. Wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility issues. Other than that nothing to pick fault with at all.

It had everything we needed and was very clean, we would definitely come back.
