About this property

Nestled on the outskirts of Praze-an-Beeble, Cornwall is where you'll find The Old Chapel, a fabulous, three-storey chapel conversion surrounded by countryside. This family-friendly abode welcomes up to ten guests for a group getaway, with spacious living areas and easy access to the popular sights of Cornwall. The Old Chapel is detached and sits picture-perfect in a gated property, where a private driveway has space for two cars, along with off-road parking. Enter through the double door entrance and make yourself at home in this beautiful dwelling; a bright hallway with wooden floors guides you to the kitchen/diner, where a large dining table seats ten guests, with further table seating for four guests, along with a contemporary, stylish kitchen, well-equipped and ready for the family chef to whip up home-cooked meals. Smart grey countertops and black, sparkly splashback tiles are easy to keep clean, whilst the separate utility hosts a washing machine and tumble dryer for muddy walks. The rear newly laid patio provides extra seating to make the most of your surroundings, whether that's to savour a peaceful morning coffee or an evening under the stars. Climb the wooden stairs to find the social heart of the house, a spacious sitting room with high ceilings, wooden beams and large, charming chapel windows bathing the space in light; start the woodburning stove, sink into the inviting sofas and enjoy a snug evening catching up with your loved ones. The family-friendly cottage is also perfect for elderly relatives and little ones thanks to its ground-floor living; rinse off in the wet room followed by a refreshing steam in the sauna, before heading to one of two ground-floor bedrooms, a double and a twin both with handy basins. Two more double bedrooms can be found on the first floor, with floor to ceiling windows framing wonderful countryside views and they are accompanied by a bunk room perfect for flexibility. Climb the quirky spiral staircase in the sitting room to find the second-floor attic room, hosting a king-size bed for two lucky guests. End your day with a relaxing bubble bath in the family bathroom without worrying about your guests, thanks to two convenient cloakrooms on the ground and first floor. For your convenience, The Old Chapel is nearby to the small village of Praze-an-Beeble, home to shops providing self-catering essentials, as well as nearby restaurants and pubs to take a break from cooking. If you can tear yourself away from this unique property, the delights of Cornwall are well-worth visiting; sitting equidistance to some of Cornwall's most infamous beaches, with different weather in the North or South of the peninsular there will always be a beach waiting for you to explore. Head to Hayle for a stroll along the sandy beach, a dip in the outdoor pool or to spot rare birds and animals at Paradise Park and Jungle Barn, perfect for younger guests. The picturesque coastal town of St Ives is a popular destination and haven for surfers; be inspired by the exhibitions of Tate St Ives, lay down your towel on Porthminster Beach and listen to the waves whilst reading your holiday book, or follow the stunning coastline to Clodgy Point for spectacular sea views. Lying further south, Penzance hosts a wonderful promenade to wander along with an ice cream, stop for lunch in an independent café, and swim lengths in the quirky art deco lido, located right on the beach. For a family-friendly base to celebrate with loved ones, secure your stay at The Old Chapel.

Set on the River Beeble, this charming village is in an ideal location for exploring the adjacent coastal cities and villages. The community contains a pub, shop, Post Office, and a popular fish and chips restaurant. St Ives harbour, which has its own tiny fishing fleet, is close by, and there are plenty of boat tours provided by locals eager to show off the finest of Cornwall, whether it's seal watching at Seal Island, mackerel fishing for a couple of hours, or a quiet cruise.

Let down by a few things that have been mentioned by previous people and nothing has been done about I.e dryer doesn’t work, mattress in bunk room very uncomfortable, light in sauna doesn’t work

Images also suggest that property has more land than it actually does. Had the listing been accurate stating 2 bathrooms then we wouldn’t have booked as sharing 2 toilets between 3 families is not sufficient.

The area invites you to explore and there is really a lot to discover. Overall, the house met our expectations. We had enough space for 4 adults and 8 children. Unfortunately, the outdoor area is less spacious than the pictures suggest. What we didn't like was that the craftsmanship in some places in the house wasn't very professional.
