Guests appreciate the property's setting and the sound of the sea, which adds to the tranquil atmosphere. While some guests have returned for multiple stays, indicating a level of satisfaction, there are mentions of the property appearing tired and in need of maintenance and deep cleaning.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Cleanliness has been a recurring concern among guests, with reports of dust, cobwebs, and unclean kitchen items. Some guests felt the need to clean upon arrival, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach and the peaceful sound of the sea. The setting is described as fantastic, with easy access to local attractions, making it a strong point for the property.

Comfort receives mixed reviews. While the setting is found to be relaxing, issues such as draughty windows, uncomfortable beds, and a lack of mattress protectors have been noted, affecting the overall comfort of the stay.

Facilities and maintenance are areas of concern, with several guests reporting loose taps, issues with heating, and general wear and tear. The need for updates and repairs is evident, although the availability of WiFi and hot water are positives.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

About this property

Within a small private development, Seashells is part of a small group of 8 holiday bungalows that are sheltered from the Atlantic breeze by the sea wall, moments away from the property. The amazing golden sands of one of the two beaches here at Marazion are within a hairs' breath. This delightful complex, built around the site of former railway sidings and incorporating the little granite stone station is a lovely location for a seaside holiday. Watch water sport maniacs ride the waves at speed as they hurtle past your patio. Returning to your bungalow after a day of sun and fun you can relax in the uncluttered harmony of open design living. With comfy leather sofas, a dining table for meals and board games and a sleek, modern kitchen for cooking, the open plan space is great for just being all together. There are two bedrooms (one double and one twin) and a family bathroom (bath with shower over) that complete the accommodation. All the bungalows have their own patio and the attractively landscaped grounds incorporate designated parking bays in front of each property. When the tide is out, the historic island castle of St Michael's Mount can be accessed by an ancient cobbled causeway well trodden by Pilgrims over the centuries. A vast tract of inland marshland frequented by rare species of migrating birds attracts twitchers from all over the country. Browse art galleries and antique shops, or take refreshment in the tea rooms, cafes and pubs lining the narrow streets of this charismatic coastal village. When you are ready to explore the surrounding area you will find that Penzance, Land's End and St Ives are all just a convenient drive away. This property should be taken off your listing until the issues have been rectified, looking back at previous reviews I note all our issues have been noted 6, 12, 18 months previously and are still within the letting, the owner accasionally replies that these are on a "Maintenance schedule" this needs to be carried out to things like patio doors are held together with pieces of steel angle brackets also lock is not secure, base sliders rusted & rotten, Electric tripped 8 times while we were there twice we only had the TV on, Two bedroom drawer fronts came off in our hands, Chipped cups, Bathroom shaving mirror light does not work, Sharp gaps in bedroom laminate flooring, Tempremental front door lock, Windows inside & out need a good clean our neighbours first job when she arrived was to clean the external windows All these issues and more were reported back to the agents along with phographic evidence the owner was contacted and we received compensation, If the issues were cleared up this would a very good location

The only downside to my stay was the mattresses on the beds could all do with replacing as they killed my back, but despite this would recommend as a good location and can't fault anything else

There was a really bad draught through the french doors, it was moving the blinds. We were going out one day when the gardener knocked on the French doors and said he needs to do something with them, we had to leave him while we were out, thinking about it after we wish we'd said no, it just din't seem right his being there when we were out. I couldn't get the internet so had to use my phone this didn't have a good signal either, if we'd known we would have bought some DVDs. Our heating packed up one day and someone came out to fix it which they did, if it had been checked it may not have happened. Just a few small changes would have helped to make it better. We've been to the site twice before and it's a good location, so may be back again. I just hope they listen to our reviews.
