Guests say

Miners Cottage in Penzance, Cornwall, garners praise for its cosy atmosphere, scenic location, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, sea views, and the cottage's character. The wood burner and quiet setting contribute to a pleasant stay, despite some concerns over maintenance and cleanliness.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests finding the cottage spotless, while others report issues with dust, cobwebs, and general upkeep. The presence of both positive and negative feedback suggests variability in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to coastal paths, local pubs, and historical sites. The sea views from the property are frequently mentioned as a highlight, contributing to a high score in this category.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the log fire. However, some concerns about the quality of mattresses and the effectiveness of heating systems during colder months slightly lower the score.

The cottage is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as ineffective heating, broken appliances, and the need for clearer instructions for the hob. These factors affect the overall score for facilities.

While some guests mention the provision of tea and biscuits, there is insufficient information to determine a consistent level of thoughtfulness in terms of gifts or extra touches. Therefore, this score is set to null.

There are three bedrooms so it can sleep up to six people but it should not be advertised for more than four. The sitting room can not accommodate more than four and the kitchen would also be a squeeze for more than four people. Well equipped kitchen other than the plates. There were only five big plates so we had to wash them all the time. There is a very wobbly wardrobe in the main bedroom. Please fix it to the wall as it is very dangerous. The biggest problem though is that there is no recycling. There are signs everywhere to put all rubbish in the black bags with all the other rubbish and in to the green bin outside. Everyone in the village has different colour bags for different materials except this cottage. We bought our recyclable waste home as we couldn't bare to just send it to the landfill. Please recycle.

Otherwise the cottage was cosy and apart from the weather we had a lovely time.

The house was in a beautiful location close to lovely cliff top walks and short drives away from some stunning locations. We loved the house and found it very cosy. However we were disappointed about the comfort of the mattress in the master bedroom, particularly as I see this has been bought up in past reviews. The mattress was very springy, creaky and very worm out. Also the curtains in all of the rooms were very thin and didn't keep any light out. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay, the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and was a small but pleasant space to cook in. Thank you for our stay. We hope to be back again one day!
