Set in the historic harbour town of Penzance overlooking the world famous Mount's Bay towards St Michael's Mount is The Abbey, one of Cornwall's most important listed buildings dating from 1660. With its secluded walled garden, courtyard and period features, this Grade II listed semi-detached holiday home allows you to discover true comfort and provides a relaxing and casual, yet elegant atmosphere for up to 14 guests. Your Penzance holiday property is set over three floors and has the feel of a smart country house, exuding quality and style throughout. On the mezzanine is an historic drawing room with a roaring open fire, large gilt mirror and walls of books, along with huge arched windows that rise to the ceiling and open out onto the garden. The oak-panelled dining room with 12 seater dining table, and the enormous kitchen with commercial oven, allow the chefs amongst you to cater for the maximum number of guests in comfort. The seven bedrooms are split between the first and second floors, with the three on the first floor boasting en-suite facilities, and all add to the character and unique feel that can be seen throughout this mansion. Surrounded by rare sub-tropical flora and fauna, The Abbey boasts a private walled garden with its cobbled pathways and luscious lawn to provide the perfect setting to lose yourself in a novel, take an afternoon cream tea, a refreshing glass of something cool or even a game of croquet. Penzance is a coastal town steeped in history while providing all the facilities of modern life. The town offers the National Trust owned St Michael’s Mount, as well as winding streets, shops, clubs and restaurants, and there are a wealth of sandy beaches very close by. The South West coast path passes through Penzance and winds its way along the cliff tops towards Land’s End, plus the open air Minack Theatre and Gwennap Head are close by.
