The Abbey in Penzance is a highly praised holiday rental, celebrated for its spaciousness, comfort, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the property's charm, decor, and the thoughtful touches like welcome scones and fluffy towels. Its location is ideal for exploring local attractions, and the walled garden adds to its appeal. While some guests noted issues with the industrial kitchen and maintenance, the overall experience is one of luxury and homeliness, perfect for large gatherings and creating lasting memories.
Guests have not raised any significant concerns regarding cleanliness, suggesting that The Abbey is well-maintained. The presence of a cleaner and the condition of the property upon arrival indicate high standards of cleanliness.
The Abbey's location is frequently commended for its proximity to the harbour, shops, and local pubs. Its ease of access to nearby attractions like St Ives and the Minack Theatre adds to its appeal, although Penzance's industrial nature was noted by one guest.
The comfort of The Abbey is a highlight in the reviews, with guests mentioning the luxurious bedrooms, spacious living areas, and the property's ability to accommodate large groups without feeling crowded.
While the property's facilities, such as the well-stocked kitchen and garden, are generally praised, some guests experienced difficulties with the industrial kitchen equipment and mentioned maintenance issues like a beeping alarm and a complex gas cooker. These points suggest room for improvement in this category.
The Abbey's hosts are recognised for their thoughtful gestures, including welcome scones and other amenities. However, as these gifts are subject to change and not guaranteed for every stay, they are a delightful bonus rather than a consistent offering.

If you like historic properties, you will love this one. 10 of us stayed here in May. 4 couples and 2 older children. There was plenty of room for all of us to have our own space, as well as get together in the evenings. There is a brilliant Escape Room just up the road, if you're looking for something to do on a gloomy day. We had a small issue with the cooker whilst we were there, but was dealt with very swiftly by the owner and handyman once we had reported it. I would definitely recommend staying here" If possible, please could you put the above on Sykes? Although the weather wasn't on our side, we still had a good time. I probably wouldn't stay in Penzance itself again, but would like to return to Cornwall.

We absolutely loved our stay there. We loved sitting in the drawing room of an evening with the fire going, it was my favourite room. I have a child with Coeliac disease so have to bake a lot, the kitchen is very well equipped which made cooking there a joy. We felt like we could really make it home for the week and didnât want to leave. The owner was also amazing and went above and beyond when I called with an issue (which was very quickly solved), it was lovely to meet him. It really is an amazing place and I would definitely stay there again.

Itâs a fantastic place and the 3 children in our group were enchanted (so weâre the adults!). The kitchen is incredibly well equipped (2 toasters, 2 kettles, 2 fridges). The garden is a delight.
