Guests say

Harlyn in Mevagissey is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and beautiful garden. Guests appreciate the warm welcome and helpfulness of the owner. The property's location offers a mix of convenience and challenge due to its proximity to local amenities and a steep hill. The cottage is equipped with good quality appliances and offers a comfortable stay, though some guests noted minor issues with maintenance and facilities.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is consistently described as very clean, with numerous guests highlighting its tidiness. One review mentioned a dishwasher full of dishes, but this seems to be an isolated incident.

The location is generally appreciated for its proximity to Mevagissey and local attractions. However, several reviews mention a steep hill which may be challenging for some guests, affecting the score.

Guests find the property comfortable, with ample space and a lovely garden. The warm and cosy atmosphere is frequently mentioned, suggesting a high level of comfort.

Facilities are well-regarded, with good quality appliances and a well-maintained garden. Some guests noted the lack of a drying option for the washing machine and a small kitchen, which slightly lowers the score.

While some guests mentioned a welcome pack and found the owner friendly and helpful, there are not enough references to gifts or special thoughtful touches to accurately score this category.

About this property

Situated on the easily accessible side of Mevagissey, this traditional, single-storey house sits in a quiet cul-de-sac, on the edge of the fishing village of Mevagissey. Light and spacious, and offering three bedrooms, one with an en-suite, this Mevagissey cottage provides a comfortable holiday home for a family looking to stay in this charming area of Cornwall. The sitting room with dining area is perfect for everyone to gather together, whilst the attached sun room and the separate conservatory both offer wonderful places to relax, perhaps with a book as the sun circles this homely Mevagissey cottage throughout the day. The picturesque quay is a popular feature of Mevagissey, where you find plenty of boats bobbing along the shore, and streets lined with gift shops, restaurants and bars, open all year round. For a complete contrast of scenery, within a short drive of this Mevagissey cottage are a number of gardens to explore, including the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the exotic blooms at the Eden Project and the charming woodlands of Caerhays Castle. Families will love to visit the various attractions in the area from the Shipwreck Centre in romantic Charlestown to the Wheal Martyn china clay museum and the World of Model Railways. Sandy beaches are plentiful in this part of Cornwall, and so from this Mevagissey cottage there is something for everyone to enjoy, rain or shine. Note: This property is next to Ref. 2919, together they sleep 7.

The perfect Cornish fishing village, with winding cobbled streets and a picturesque harbour full of boats. Stunning walks lead along the coast in both directions, with sandy beaches, high cliffs and hidden coves to explore. The village has an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, whilst just up the road are the Lost Gardens of Heligan. A ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey also runs daily between Easter and September.

Set in a perfect location. Felt really homely with an amazing garden. Will definitely be looking into booking here again!

The one downside is we enjoy walking and one of the only ways to go to the harbour was up/down a very steep road (25% hill). You could drive 4 minutes to Pentewan beach, which is great if you wanted a dog free beach. Around the corner is Polstreath beach, which is down some 175 steps to get to the beach, which is secluded and lovely.

yes it is but it does not state the fact of a very uphill walk which could be a problem for some people. property was lovely and we were very comfortable.
