There are lovely gift shops, coffee shops, ice cream shops and 5 excellent restaurants which are all very popular. The Longstore Steakhouse and Springtide to name a few.

Once a year the village holds its annual Regatta: a week-long event featuring water sports, games, sports competitions and a carnival. Charlestown is well worth a visit. Westaway cottage is beautiful and well equipped in a great location. It had a lovely secluded and secure garden for our two small dogs. The location is great, within easy walk of the harbour and great pubs and restaurants nearby. The owners were really helpful with a couple of queries. Highly recommended!

Overall a really nice cottage for a family, it is getting a little bit tired, for example pillows were flat as pancakes, bedding a bit tired and cleanliness about a seven out of ten. A few bits weren’t in great condition, doors and handles need a bit of work, and cushions could mostly do with replacing and rain head shower had an air block. With a little tlc it could be a nine out of ten. We had a great stay (despite the weather!)and the little garden has great seating and is a brilliant sun trap, overall would recommend, but it wouldn’t take much to give it the wow factor 😊.

We had a great week at Westaway cottage. The location was perfect. Few minutes walk to the coast to access perfect beaches. The dogs loved it! Few minutes walk to nice pubs and restaurants. The garden was sheltered with comfortable furniture and brilliant for the dogs or children (and drinking a glass of wine!). Playground opposite. Plenty of parking. Lots of tourist attractions an easy drive away. Went to Menhabily on my birthday where we had the beach to ourselves. Then had a fabulous meal at The Boat House. The weather was perfect too. We would love to go back.
