Guests say

Guests consistently praise the Turquarze apartment for its spectacular views, excellent location near Carbis Bay, and high-quality amenities. The property is well-regarded for its cleanliness, stylish interior, and proximity to the beach and local transport. While most experiences are positive, a few guests mention minor issues with maintenance and comfort.

The majority of guests report the apartment as immaculately clean. However, one guest found a used plaster under the sofa, suggesting that while the general cleanliness is high, attention to detail could be improved.

The location is highly praised for its stunning sea views, easy access to the beach, and convenient transport links. It is considered an ideal base for exploring Cornwall.

Many guests find the apartment comfortable, with special mentions of the bed and the views. However, some guests note issues with bedroom size, uncomfortable furniture, and a lack of sleep due to missing window coverings.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and spacious areas. Criticisms include smelly drains, a broken security gate, and Wi-Fi issues, indicating room for improvement in maintenance.

While some guests were delighted with welcome touches like complimentary items, there is insufficient information to determine if such gestures are consistent or guaranteed, and therefore a score cannot be provided.

I loved my stay and will hopefully be back again. The views are stunning and it's great to sit in bed in the morning with a cuppa watching the sea, lovely and relaxing. I really loved the walk in wardrobe/dressing room too, that was great. The apartment is well equipped, the only one suggestion I have is that a nest of tables would be useful in the lounge as well as the existing coffee table, other than that perfect! Great location for the train to St Ives too. I had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend Turquarze.

We’ve stayed in many of your apartments and this one could do with a refresh and some replacement items such as the sofa and rug in the lounge. There were only 2 dinner plates and 1 teabag when we arrived. As there was three people staying this was a challenge. However we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend staying, and whilst we were very comfortable in the apartment, we just feel it’s time for an update.

The view is amazing and the location of the property so close to the station and the coastal path is just perfect. The apartment and especially the kitchen is very well equipped. Love going to sleep hearing the waves, then waking up to the most amazing view. However, a few negatives this time and advice: The security gate to the car park was broken and left open the whole week, despite Carbis Bay Holidays assuring us this would be fixed. We could not get the coffee machine to work. Was reported to CBH, who did offer to look at it but we declined but just wanted to report it. Cleanliness - looked very clean on arrival, but on our last day when we were giving it a quick hoover, a used plaster (not from us) was found under the sofa. The cleaners do need to check under the furniture too. There is a huge TV on a floor stand in the main bedroom which is a safety hazard, as you regularly catch your feet on the legs sticking out. If you need to put a TV in the bedroom, it needs to be wall mounted. The new walk in wardrobe is good, and we love the bed now facing the sea, but the door into the wardrobe needs to be removed or put on the outside as a sliding door. We both caught ourselves daily on the door handle. There is also not enough room to dry your hair in that space, a small dressing table would be a great addition to the bedroom, and as it is a good sized room there would be plenty of space. Would just add to the luxury of the apartment. Since Carbis Bay Holidays have been taken over by Sykes Holidays, they are very difficult to contact. In the welcome pack it says any issues to call your housekeeper, but no number given. The online message service failed due to being too busy. No reply from the WhatsApp message service. So I resorted to finding an old email address from our previous stays before the change, which I finally got a reply. But the above negatives would not stop us staying again, as the positives outweigh the negatives. It is an amazing place.
