Guests say

Guests appreciate the cottage's excellent location in St. Ives, Cornwall, with its proximity to beaches and local amenities. The property's character and unique features have been highlighted, and it offers a cosy atmosphere. However, some guests have noted areas for improvement, particularly in maintenance and cleanliness.

Several reviews mention issues with cleanliness, including dust, rubbish under beds, and mould in the shower. The property was not cleaned on arrival in one instance. These recurring comments suggest that cleanliness is below average.

The location is highly praised for being central and close to beaches and shops. Parking is noted as challenging, but the convenience of the location compensates for this minor inconvenience.

The property is described as cosy and comfortable by several guests, with a warm atmosphere. However, some guests reported issues with mattresses and dampness, which suggests room for improvement in comfort.

Facilities like a games-room are appreciated, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as broken windows, inoperable heating, and lack of instructions for appliances. The property seems to offer good facilities, but maintenance detracts from the overall experience.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the property owner towards the guests. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category.

Stayed with our dog - plenty of space and warm enough. Shame no recycling facilities - we took ours with us at the end. Parking at the Island car park is fine out of season. We love St Ives anyway, and this property is fine for short stay, not sure about long stays with extended family though. Lot's of steps and stairs, so not ideal for elderly or very young. Some of the windows catches were broken, and the boiler is very noisy (couldn't work out.how to change the temperature so just turned it off at the boiler overnight).
