About this property

Kirra is a spacious and inviting holiday home, tucked away along a quiet road at Highcliff and is just a short walk downhill to the sandy beach and vibrant village shops of Polzeath. With a sunny terrace and lawned garden, along with private use of the tennis court on request, Kirra can accommodate up to six guests, offering a lovely retreat for families and their pets. Take a seat with a refreshing drink on the sheltered terrace, a hotspot on a sunny day, whilst the open-plan sitting room/kitchen is a light, sociable space to enjoy; sink into the deep sofas, and on cool Autumnal nights, light the woodburning stove, making Kirra a suitable base for all seasons. Neat and well-equipped, you won't mind rustling up a quick holiday supper, or a round of scones for a cream tea, in the immaculate kitchen. The bedrooms offer a range of sleeping accommodation with a king-size bed and two twin rooms on offer. The epitome of the Cornish seaside resort, Polzeath is located on the North Cornwall coast and has a fun, buzzy atmosphere with varied beach shops, art galleries and great places to eat. Set up camp in one of the sheltered coves on the edge of the beach or at low tide, head to Pentireglaze (Baby Bay to locals) for a quieter family picnic. Follow the coast path along the cliff to Pentire Point and The Rumps for awe-inspiring and dramatic scenes of the ocean and the mouth of the estuary with the lifeboat station in the distance at Trevose Head. Families with youngsters can happily relax at Daymer Bay with a picnic and buckets and spades, knowing that beach games, paddling and rock pools will keep little darlings amused for the whole day. Book your next break with a stay at Kirra.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.

Of particular note is the obvious damp problem that affects the under stairs cupboard. The damp smell permeates the ground floor if the door is opened and also creates mold in the ground floor shower room. Also, the kitchen mixer tap should be properly fixed - the makeshift repair is shaky and will fail!! Cleanliness was generally ok but someone had left a rusty old grill pan on the patio and there was a disintegrating coal scuttle under the sink in the utility room that scattered rust flakes if accidentally touched. Such a shame!

It was just down the road from family we were visiting so perfect location, great facilities and super dog friendly. The enclosed garden was our saviour at night time when it got dark. The kitchen taps seemed to struggle a bit with a good pressure, but it didn’t affect our stay at all. The log burner was a wonderful addition too, especially in cold January. Looking forward to coming back in years to come. Thank you!

We moved out as soon as we found alternative accomodation.
