Guests say

Honeysuckle Cottage in Lyme Regis is praised for its excellent location and the convenience of having a parking space, despite some difficulties with access. The newly refurbished kitchen and comfortable beds are appreciated, but guests feel that the rest of the property could benefit from refurbishment and maintenance. The property's cleanliness and comfort receive mixed reviews, with some guests finding issues with cleanliness and comfort of the furniture.

Guests have reported mixed experiences regarding cleanliness. Some have found the property to be a bit grubby with cobwebs and dirty windowsills, while others have not mentioned cleanliness as an issue. The outside courtyard also requires attention.

The location of the cottage is consistently praised for being central and close to the beach, amenities, pubs, bars, and restaurants, making it an ideal spot for a holiday in Lyme Regis.

Comfort has been a point of contention among guests. While the beds are described as comfy, the sofas and seating in the lounge are frequently criticised for being uncomfortable and in need of replacement.

The kitchen is well-equipped and a highlight for many guests. However, issues with maintenance such as broken windows, a cracked shower knob, and a problematic DVD player suggest that facilities could be improved to meet the expected standards.

While a welcome pack with local produce is mentioned positively in one review, there is insufficient information across the reviews to assess the consistency of thoughtfulness in terms of gifts or special touches provided to guests.

About this property

Traditionally part of a medieval stable, this stunning Grade II listed building has been carefully renovated to create a wonderful holiday home. In a prime location for visiting the coast and town centre of Lyme Regis, Dorset, Honeysuckle Cottage is perfect for a family or group of adults looking to explore the Jurassic coast. Be welcomed to this property by a wonderful cobbled courtyard and the historic stone exterior of the building, with a splash of colour from the yellow window frames. Make yourself at home in the wonderful sitting room where blue sofas surround an electric fire stove, and traditional half-moon windows let in natural light, a lovely place to spend an evening relaxing.

When stomachs start to rumble, make your way into the kitchen where stylish grey and pale wood furniture and ample amenities create a contemporary space for the designated chef to rustle up a heart-warming meal made from local produce, which you can enjoy in the dining room with homely décor. Be encouraged to snuggle down for the night in one of the three bedrooms, beginning with a King-size bedroom with red décor, ample storage and a contemporary en-suite shower-room, and next you will find a double bedroom with green décor and tasteful wooden furniture and finally a twin bedroom with yellow walls, perfect for children, as well as a contemporary bathroom, where you can relax amongst the bubbles after a long day spent at the beach.

With a Mediterranean feel from the palm trees and painted widow frames, enjoy breakfast in the courtyard before heading out to explore the town. Lyme Regis is a seaside town with fantastic access to a handful of stunning beaches, the closest to the property being Church Bay, however access to the more well-known Monmouth and Lyme Regis Fossil bay can be found by walking along the seafront, enjoying boats bobbing in the sunshine and the vast seascape ahead, before reaching the rocky shores and enjoying a wild swim or fossil hunting amongst the rocks. Head into town for a bite to eat at one of the many eateries or end the day in a pub with a view to the ocean and a glass of your favourite beverage in hand.

Lyme Regis also has many other attractions, including two museums, a garden and an aquarium. Make the perfect seaside holiday with a stay at Honeysuckle Cottage.

The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer its visitors, boasting a maze of narrow streets filled with craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. Take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway overlooking the ancient harbour, where fishing trips can be enjoyed, or try your hand at fossil hunting in the area. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind. The towel rail in the en-suite did not work. The access to the car parking was severely restricted both by the scaffolding to the next door property and the overgrown bush (with thorny branches that could scratch the car) and the picture on the website is a misrepresentation. I have a medium size car and scratched my wing mirror, which was folded in, on my first attempt to get in. However, good location and a good time was had at the property in spite of the issues identified

It's location was great, being close to the town and seafront. The only area of concern was parking. The parking space on the property was fine for one small/medium sized but it was the access to the parking that presented the biggest problem. Whilst the access was marked keep clear, it did not provide enough width for manoeuvring given the off angle of access. To add to the problem, there are two parking spaces to the side of the access which makes it virtually impossible to manoeuvre in and out. A small car would be best when staying here.

Previous use of some crockery and cutlery prior to our arrival had not been quality checked. Lovely accommodation with high quality furnishings plenty of space to spread out and enjoy your own company. 4 adults sharing. Reality of the actual entrance gates picture disappointing
