Guests say

Purlinney Cottage is praised for its stunning views, peaceful setting, and proximity to beautiful beaches and local attractions. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, charming features, and comfortable accommodation. The location is ideal for exploring North Cornwall, though a car is essential and the approach roads are narrow. Some guests noted issues with WiFi reliability and minor housekeeping details, but overall, the cottage offers a relaxing and memorable stay in a picturesque environment.

Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, though a few mentioned spider webs and a need for more thorough dusting. Overall, cleanliness is good but could be improved with more attention to detail.

The location is highly praised for its breathtaking views, tranquillity, and easy access to beaches and local sights. The rural setting and proximity to walking trails are standout features, though the narrow roads require confident driving.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable, spacious, and homely, with good beds and a relaxing atmosphere. The peaceful surroundings and private garden add to the overall comfort.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, with a good kitchen and amenities. However, several guests noted unreliable WiFi, lack of hand soap, and some basic utensils needing replacement. Facilities are functional but could benefit from small improvements.

Some guests were delighted to find homemade biscuits on arrival, though such gifts are not guaranteed. The owners are described as friendly and welcoming, but attention to small details like soap and tea towels could be improved.

We decided to book a last minute trip to Cornwall and found Purlinny, the cottage is a lovely stone built cottage with traditional features surrounded by amazing views and lovely landscapes. The cottage was generally clean but there were a large number of spiders webs and spiders around the property which could have benefited from being vacuumed or dusted away before arrival. The kitchen is well equipped but there was little washing up liquid on arrival and only one tea towel I could locate. And there was no soaps or hand washes in the bathrooms. The WiFi is very poor but we were aware of this from reviews so not unexpected. The nearest 'big shop' is a good 35 minutes away in Launceston. So after a visit there to stock up all was good The local tidal beach is amazing, low tide leaves a gorgeous beach.. the 10 minute walk across the fields to the beach includes a very steep and dramatic set of steps down the coastal path. Not suitable for anyone unsure on their feet. But if you get there at the right time the car park is free after 4pm.The roads are dramatic and steep from the house heading to tintagel and require some getting Used to.All in a lovely place to visit and access the Cornwall area. Not sure we would choose again but glad to have experienced it.

A lovely cottage in a remote location. Beautiful scenery and walks on the door step. A short drive to some lovely beaches and family friendly days out. Perfect holiday.

A very comfortable and enjoyable holiday. Trebarwith Strand close by is a splendid beach, but you need to pick your tide carefully. Lots of beautiful places to visit within easy distance, but a car is essential. (For the younger and very fit a bicycle might do.)
