Escape to rural Cornwall at Trerubies

At one time the producer of the world’s best quality building and ornamental slate, this now sleepy village is just 2.5 miles from the high cliffs and dramatic scenery of the north Cornish coastline. Perfectly placed for walking the South West coastal path, exploring the high places of nearby Bodmin Moor, or for lazing on the beach at nearby Trebarwith Strand, it’s a well-placed holiday base. The peaceful harbour village of Port Isaac and the town of Tintagel, with its tourist attractions and King Arthur’s legendary castle, are both a short drive, while the stunning surfing beach at Polzeath is a mere nine miles away. Slaughtersbridge, where King Arthur reputedly fought his last battle, is five minutes away and a drive north along the coast takes in the beautiful cove at Crackington Haven. An area away from the main tourist crowds, but very central to a vast array of places and activities. Delabole Quarry itself is just down the road and is an interesting tourist attraction with stunning views. It is the gateway to great countryside walks.

The house is a comfortable place to stay with amazing views. The peace and quiet is really relaxing. The house had everything we needed. With 3 young boys the body boarding down at Trebarth Strands Sands was a real hit. We would definitely consider staying again.

Damp smell from bathroom with bath and need Wi-Fi boosting for use down stairs.

Small points were There could have been some cushions to sit on the outdoor furniture, toilet seat was loose and the cottage was very cold the first night, we managed to get the heating going the second day but then the weather turned warm. Every kitchen utensil you could wish for but very little storage space for visitors groceries. Very peasant stay and great nearby beach and attractions.
