What a truly fantastic week we had at Hawks Ridge! The place has been simply lovely, a real treat for both of us (plus Ruby the dog) to take in a much needed relaxing break. We had a great time and enjoyed every moment whilst taking in the most wonderful of views, which luckily was helped by the best weather with sunshine, all day every day. The house was faultless; we had no issues, on arrival it was all very clean, is nicely spacious, and was well-maintained and well-equipped to meet our needs. Most days started with lovely dog walks on Downderry Beach. We had a nice walk to Seaton and lunch at the Beach House cafe, also we went a couple of times to the Inn on the Shore including Sunday Lunch (which was very nice) and stopped for an ice cream at Summink Different. Took a lovely walk from Sharrow Beach to Cliff Top Cafe at Tregonhawke, which was very nice as at low tide the fantastic beach goes for miles (steep climb up though!). Another very pleasant day out was parking at Lantic Bay NT then walking into Polruan to take the ferry to Fowey. Other things we did; enjoyed tapas and cocktails at Bewshea’s which was nice for a change, and dinner at the Copley Arms was also very good. The locals gave us a friendly welcome, which was nice – and thanks to Mark (our host) for advice before we arrived and during our stay. We had a thoroughly lovely stay full of great memories, a fabulous time and hopefully we will stay again soon!

    1) House keeping lacking. Heavy dust behind main bedroom bedside cabinets.Food particles in cutlery draw.Cheese remaining on grater from previous guests. Only 3 toilet rolls - had to purchase more.2) DescriptionNo heated towel rail in master bathroom. No cubicle shower master bathroom - simply curtain over bath.Radiator not working master bathroom - previously reported.Toilet in master bathroom very stained bowl.3) GeneralParking for 1 car - even smallest car would not fit without protruding across pavement.Furniture on balcony rusty and damaged.Key safe - had to stand in a puddle to obtain - storm water drainage issueUnable to be sure garden was secure for my dog due to overgrown shrubbery obstructing view of fencing behind.Front of property 'tatty' with railings rusted and likely to cut/infect hand.Despite this - property was premium location with very comfortable beds, soft furnishings and modern kitchen. Large TV a bonus. What lets this property down in my view is housekeeping and maintenance. Owner phoned (Monday) asking if all okay and I mentioned lack of toilet rolls - he said he would speak to housekeeper. No welcome pack which in my experience unusual.Information pack out of date - needs reviewing. Finally - the guest comments book is very positive although I did notice several pages had been torn out.Even allowing for above points that could be easily rectified - I would still recommend this property which has much to offer in view and comfort.
