Settled on the award-winning Whitsand Bay Fort Holiday Park on the outskirts of Millbrook, Cornwall, is this historic 1940’s holiday cottage, The Radar Station. Enjoying a superb location at the highest point of the Rame Peninsula between two Victorian gun emplacements, and exceptional far-reaching views across the bay visible from every window, The Radar Station is a fantastic choice for couples, friends and families. Upon arrival, you will discover off-road parking spaces and a lovely wraparound terrace, complete with furniture for alfresco dining, perfect for relaxing soaks with a view! Step inside to discover a well-equipped galley kitchen for rustling up your best dishes, ready to enjoy over a bottle of wine or two at the dining table. If you don’t fancy cooking, why not take advantage of the Whitsand Bay Fort Bar & Restaurant, where everything will be taken care of for you! After dinner, kick-back and relax on the sumptuous sofas and watch your favourite film on the TV. Continue through to find a stylish shower room, where you can wash away the day’s adventures, along with three tastefully decorated bedrooms, a double, a twin and a single. In the morning, wake-up and enjoy breakfast or a sweet treat at the on-site café, followed by a dip in the heated indoor pool. If you can tear yourself away, head into Millbrook, where you can stock up on essentials at the convenience store, dine at the Devon & Cornwall Inn, enjoy a walk around Millbrook Dam, or test out your racket on the Millbrook Tennis Courts. For a day at the beach, head to the gorgeous Whitsand Bay, where you can beachcombe the shores, swim and try your hand at surfing. Your new holiday cottage further benefits from being set on the South West Coast Path where you can embark on scenic hikes and bike rides. Next stop is Cremyll, where you can visit the imposing Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park, or catch a ferry over to Plymouth, where you will find Royal William Yard, the Theatre Royal, National Marine Aquarium and three Michelin Star restaurants. Adventure awaits at The Radar Station.
Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, sometimes known as "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner," in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that feeds to the Hamoaze, directly across from the ancient naval city of Plymouth. The area is deeply rural and recognised as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty, bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze, and the sea. There is a wide variety of stores and watering holes in the village, and the nearby coastal towns of Kingsand and Cawsand have a ferry that will transport you to Plymouth. There are kilometres of scenic trails to explore on the southern margins of the peninsula, many of which offer breathtaking panoramas of Rame Head. Whitsand Bay, with its miles of unspoiled sandy beach and rnli-patrolled cliffs, is only a mile south of Millbrook. Perfect for getting out and experiencing the wild side of Cornwall.

A wonderful historic location with outstanding views. All home comforts indoors with outside seating/dining area and of course the hot tub, checked each day for safety. The bar and restaurant is welcoming with delicious food, huge portions, for any time of day and friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. The beach over the road needs good fitness as steep but there's a bus stop outside the site that regularly takes you to easily accessible beaches and Plymouth, or a 10 minutes drive. Perfect.

. A few irritations... 1)No direct access to wrap around decking to use Hot tub...bit of a pain but didn't stop us using it (which was lovely) 2)Furniture a bit dated in bedrooms but again didn't stop us sleeping in comfort. 3)we would suggest taking a tourch as there is no lights on decking, to light the way in the dark when using hot tub.. 4)It could do with a fire exit window.. only one entrance/exit. 5)Water flow from shower poor, and the shower bar fell from the wall.. 2 Adults Easter Break Away 2024
