For daytime adventures, begin your day walking over the dunes of Rock Beach, paddle in the shores of Daymer Bay just around the corner from Rock or bask in the sun's rays as you watch the world go by. Refuel at one of several pubs or restaurants including The Pityme Inn, which is a village inn conveniently located just a stroll across the lane from Obo's Retreat, along with the Pityme Shop for stocking up on essentials, or The Mariners Public House or The Rock Inn before continuing on to Port Isaac where Doyden Castle, and the lovely café of Fee’s awaits. Further north along the coastline, journey to Tintagel where you can admire the magnificent structure of Tintagel Castle, explore Merlin’s Cave or get lost in a book in the peaceful serenity of Bossiney Cove. Accessible by car, pop into the local shopping town of Wadebridge which features individual and boutique shops or hop on the foot ferry from Rock to visit Padstow where you can play mini golf, eat your way around the town and collect crabs up from the harbour. Wadebridge, a thriving market town, is wonderfully situated next to the River Camel's flow, making it a great starting point for experiencing North Cornwall's natural splendour. The town is home to the only family-owned movie theatre in North Cornwall as well as a wide variety of outstanding stores, pubs, and restaurants that all provide a personal and pleasant service. In addition to the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, which offers 17 miles of wonderful, traffic-free walking, horseback riding, and cycling opportunities, the lovely countryside surrounding the town is crisscrossed with a network of local footpaths, incredible gardens, and stately homes to explore. The picturesque North Cornwall coast is only 5 miles away and offers a wide variety of beaches, rocky coves, and towering cliffs to explore. Padstow, another neighbouring town, is a must-visit for its vibrant harbour, pastel-washed mediaeval homes, and renowned restaurants. Visit Newquay, the hub of UK surfing, for its more than 11 miles of golden sand beaches, interesting sea life centre, thrilling wildlife, and exhilarating nightlife.
