Guests say

Silverdale is a spacious and comfortable cottage in Wadebridge, Cornwall, appreciated for its perfect location and suitability for family holidays, including those with dogs. The enclosed garden and proximity to local amenities are frequently praised, and the property is generally regarded as clean and well-presented.

Most guests found Silverdale to be clean and tidy, though a few noted areas that could benefit from deeper cleaning or attention, such as showers, skirting boards, and kitchen appliances. The presence of unwashed crockery and cobwebs in one review suggests room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its convenience, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and beaches. The secure front garden is a bonus for dog owners, and the property's position just off Rock Road is appreciated for its tranquility and proximity to nice walks.

Guests have found the property very comfortable, with good quality beds, sofas, and linen. However, some guests experienced issues with noise in windy conditions and a damp smell in one of the bedrooms, slightly detracting from the overall comfort.

The facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample space. However, some guests noted the lack of instructions for appliances, a missing hairdryer, and mismatched crockery. Maintenance issues like a chewed staircase and garden security for pets were also mentioned.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Plenty of cutlery and crockery, towels were nice and large, only thing missing in the kitchen was a teapot. Having the Garden was great but the dog managed to escape over the low back boundary so we had to confine her to to front garden where she soon realised she could squeeze through the gaps in the gate. Consequently she spent more time in the house than we wanted. Overall, a lovely break, would definitely return

Thr house is in a lovely location and should have been ideal. It says it sleeps 10 but the crockery and glassware is a mismatch that we struggled to get a set of 6 together. There was only 5 pads for the outside chairs. The place was grubby. Unwashed crockery in the cupboards. Cobwebs. Dirty dinning room chairs. And coffee table was filthy. I also expect some basics so whole toilet rolls and hand soap. The stairs have been chewed by a previous 4 legged guest. Which is fine but I felt should have been acknowledged before we arrived. The gardener turned up unannounced while we were there which is ridiculous when you consider the checking in and departure times. Grass cutting should happen on handover days. We ended up shut up in the house for over an hour. The garden is not safely enclosed especially at the back of the house. I also don't really expect to be stripping beds when I am paying £1.6k. Disappointed and with the response of John Bray when I raised these issues.

Very spacious in a great location just off rock road. Generally very clean but towel rails and skirting boards were very dusty. Overall an excellent stay would definitely recommend this property.
