About this property

Nestled in the seaside village of Polzeath, Cornwall is this delightful four-storey property, The Lookout. Boasting stunning sea views, tasteful-décor throughout and close proximity to the beach, The Lookout welcomes six guests to relish a relaxing getaway in Cornwall. Enter the property on the ground-floor which homes a handy utility with washing machine, as well as a sleek bathroom, perfect for washing away the sand from your clothes on return from a day at the beach. On the first floor, discover three neatly-presented bedrooms, a king-size with en-suite shower room, double and a twin (zip/link) with plenty of storage to house your personal belongings and provide a lovely spot to unwind. The second-floor hosts a well-equipped kitchen, with all the necessary appliances to make your self-catered stay a success, as well as an intimate dining space where you can settle down as a family and tuck into a feast. Finally, ascend the fourth mezzanine-style sitting room where you can curl up on the plush corner sofa and relax in front of a woodburning stove and Smart TV with your loved ones close. Begin your day with a relaxing stroll along the Cornish coastline, ensuring to stop off at Pentire Point and The Rumps which both showcase imposing cliff views that stretch out to sea; journey to Doyden Castle, a stunning historic structure or Lundy Bay, where you can sink your toes into the sandy trails and relax as the waves crash along the shore. Journey to Bodmin where you’ll find Bodmin Jail Attraction, Bodmin Town Museum and the magnificent Pencarrow House and Garden, offering formal gardens, plant shop and a café where you can treat your loved ones. If you prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled pastime, spend the day at Camel Creak Family Theme Park or venture to Padstow to tour the exhibits of Padstow Museum and explore the 1800s Trevose Head Lighthouse. For all of this and more, experience Cornwall from the splendid base of The Lookout.

On the northern bank of the tranquil River Dee, 8.3 miles northwest of Aberdeen's downtown, is the lively suburb of Peterculter, also known as Culter. In addition to a wide variety of stores, bars, restaurants, a museum and heritage centre, a village hall, and an activity centre, Peterculter is also home to the folk hero Rob Roy Macgregor, who is commemorated by a statue and is known for allegedly jumping across Cutler Burn to escape pursuing Hanoverian troops. Just a short drive from the bustle of Aberdeen city centre, which offers views of high cliffs, open fields, and rocky mountains in contrast to sandy beaches and expansive sea views, as well as modern entertainment options including shopping malls, warm pubs, thrilling bars, and great dining. The expansive Cairngorm National Park, located farther away, is a thrilling and well-liked tourist destination with over 1,748 square miles of magnificent views to be discovered on walking routes, bike lanes, outdoor activities, watersports, and much more! In a more serene setting, Peterculter is a beautiful place to enjoy the adventure, history, and culture of Aberdeenshire.

A pick of the bunch for our family of four + dog out of many we have stayed in over the years - would certainly return. We even tried to extend this stay by one night, but got told by Sykes not possible. (It was a shame that the dishwasher was faulty for majority of stay, even though replaced with a new one on our last day.)

Space, comfort of beds, hot showers and delightful sea views from the dining area and lots of bright light on all levels of the cottage. Would happily return.

The location was nice and we we loved the view from the window. We have rebooked already for next year.
