I shall list our complaints. When taking a shower the water leaked behind the mastic, ran under the bath and soaked the ceiling below and dripped of the beams, light fittings and soaked the rug so that at the end of the holiday it was all musty. There was no balustrading on one side of the staircase so you could fall through, with children this was very alarming, there was no fire blanket in the kitchen, no toilet door locks, the curtain rail in one of the main bedroom was hanging off the wall, the gutters to the rear were incomplete and had missing down pipes, there were no manuals for any of the appliances, one of them was coming up with german. The BT TV was not working and the TV in the main bedroom did not have any aerial cable to connect to the tv point on the wall. All in all not satisfactory. If all of these points were sorted out it would be a lovely house. We enjoyed the quaintness of the original features etc. But for what we paid it was most certainly not up to standard. We would request some compensation.

There were many things wrong with it and Sykes response and the way our complaints were handled was unacceptable. We will not be using you again as the rating system can not be relied on.

Our builder had left, some building equipment and materials in a small corner of the large garden area, that was out of the way to the main area. This has now been removed! Shower Leak, At the time, I went to see what the problem was. I tested the shower and could not replicate the issue. My only conclusion was that the customer had left the shower panel open which flooded the floor. Customers immediately before and after did not have this problem.
