Guests have had a delightful experience at Yard Cottage, praising its wonderful location, scenic surroundings, and access to a private beach. The cottage is described as cosy, well-equipped, and maintained, with a welcome pack adding a thoughtful touch. While there are minor criticisms regarding the shower facilities, mattresses, and kitchen extractor, these do not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback.
There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide an accurate score.
The location is highly praised for its quiet, scenic environment, proximity to countryside walks, and access to a private beach. The estate is well-kept with lovely views, contributing to a high score.
The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable, but there are complaints about uncomfortable mattresses, which suggests that while generally comfortable, there is room for improvement.
Facilities are generally good, with the cottage being well-equipped. However, points are deducted for the lack of a full stand-up shower, a smoke detector that is easily triggered by steam, and an inadequate kitchen extractor.
The welcome pack was appreciated, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts such as these are not guaranteed, this score reflects the positive mention without setting an expectation of such amenities.

Comfortable and cosy. Had a nice welcome package with treats. Lots of info in the visitor guide

It was beautiful accommodation and very well equipped. The welcome pack was perfect even including milk in the fridge for a nice cuppa! Worth mentioning the drainage system which only allows eco cleaning products (no bleach) so don't add anything to your shopping that you then can't use. It is a drive to the nearest shops but this is clear in the listing. If you're looking at booking a fossil hunt then do it before you go as they're very popular. We'd also recommend Beer Quarry Caves!
