Set in the heart of Beer, a picture-perfect village in the charming county of Devon, The Sail Loft is the perfect escape for a breath of fresh air and to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. A parking permit is included for 1 car in the large public car park situated only a minute’s walk from the property, and this has several charging points for electric cars.
As you enter the Sail Loft, you will instantly feel at home with quaint features blended with modern furnishings to ensure true comfort during your stay. You can kick back and relax as the cottage has been refurbished with little luxuries such as a dishwasher, coffee machine, bathrobes, gorgeous Egyptian cotton bedding and luxury toiletries. Look forward to snuggling up after a day exploring the area and putting on a good film with the choice of the TV in the bedroom or a 50” Smart TV in the sitting room, or just sit on the balcony or in the courtyard with a glass of wine.
Head down to the famous horseshoe beach, surrounded by white chalk cliffs, only 100 metres away from the property, a real sun trap with clean waters, rock pools at low tide and beach cafés serving great breakfasts, delicious crab sandwiches and wonderful cream teas. See the local fishermen bring in their catch, hire a boat, or watch some sailing.
Beer is a beautiful fishing village nestling within an aonb on the Jurassic Coast, which grew up around a smuggler’s cove and caves, which were once used to store contraband goods. The spectacular scenery of the South West coastal footpath is only 100 metres from the property. You can walk the footpath to Branscombe and Sidmouth in one direction and Lyme Regis and Seaton in the other, or enjoy fishing and searching for fossils along the Jurassic Coast.
Local attractions include Beer Quarry Caves, Pecorama, Seaton Tramway, Crealy, Bicton Gardens and the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth, with over 500 gorgeous rescue donkeys. Beer itself has a great selection of pubs, restaurants and shops, all only metres away from the property. The surrounding countryside is a wonderful mix of wooded combs, heathland and hilltops from which wonderful vistas can be enjoyed.
The Pecorama Gardens are well worth a visit; nestled on the hill overlooking Lyme Bay, they offer colourful gardens to explore, as well as the Beer Heights Light Railway. The beautiful Regency resort of Sidmouth is only 10 minutes away and boasts a theatre, a cinema and hosts the annual famous Sidmouth Folk Festival in August.

We love staying here,ideal for the two of us and it has everything you need,if not just ask the amazing hosts and they will sort it.The location is perfect in the beautiful, friendly village of Beer.Just got back from a week stay and can't wait to get back in August for another week,love it.

Absolutely loved this place., so much so we booked on the arrival day for the same dates in 2026. The first thing we noticed on arrival was the gifts that were present on the kitchen table. The layout may not suit everybody with the living room upstairs & the toliet & kitchen downstairs. We used our firestick to get all the online App's. The shower worked well with a good flow & temperature control. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. The Christmas tree and decorations were a really nice touch, & the gift under the Christmas tree blew us away. You are provided with a car park pass the nearest being the large car park at the back of the property. Don't make our mistake and park in the car park at the front of the property which we did for the first night, because we didn't read the information card on the kitchen table properly. The owners are friendly & helped us with any questions we had.
