The Cow Shack is a one-bedroom holiday home in a stunning rural location in the mid-Devon countryside. Guests will love the tranquil location with farm animals in the surrounding fields, plenty of wildlife, free parking and open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The well-equipped kitchen has an electric oven, electric hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, washing machine and there is also a dining table and chairs to enjoy a home-cooked meal. The living area offers a cosy place to unwind after a busy day exploring Devon, with comfortable seating and a Smart TV with Freeview. Patio doors open out to the front parking area with a bistro table and chairs, offering a peaceful spot for your morning coffee. Head upstairs to discover the bedroom suite which has a handy dressing table/study area as you walk through with a double day bed that can accommodate two additional guests. There is also a super kingsize zip and link bed (can be set up with twin beds if requested) and a stylish en-suite with a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, toilet and sink.
There’s a great pub within a 10-minute drive that does takeaway food and has good ratings. The accommodation is close to the village of Pennymoor which is nearby to the historic Mid Devon town of Tiverton. This part of Devon is an excellent touring base with easy access to lots of places of interest. The accommodation is set midway between Devon’s two coastlines, convenient for a day out to either. The award-winning North Devon coastline is within a 50 minute drive with its golden sandy surfing beaches and the Jurassic South Devon coastal beauty spots are within an hours drive. Beach 25 miles.

Our long weekend at the Cow Shack was very chilled. The location is well off the beaten path, but all the more relaxing for that. Tanya, our host, was fantastic - we enjoyed excellent communication before arriving and during our stay and she was very welcoming. The property is well appointed and offered a compact but genuinely comfortable living space downstairs with a spacious bedroom, dressing room & large shower/wc room upstairs. The kitchen was well equipped and provided all that we needed. The linked twin super-king bed was very comfortable and the linen was pristine. As a couple, if we were taking a short break in Mid-Devon again, we'd happily go back to the Cow Shack. Thank you Tanya.

Very quiet location, photos miss selling the apartment as none of the grass areas are accessible for dogs, only area for a dog is the gravel area outside and walking along the single track roads which isn’t ideal. so my dog wasn’t really able to exercise without taking on a car journey. Net curtains either side of the door offered no privacy when dark outside as could see in with lights on. Nice touch by owners leaving tea, coffee, milk, biscuits & dog treats. Is a nice retreat if you don’t have a pet. Was shocked to see next year’s price has increased by 100% so won’t be returning.

Beautiful cottage, and super interior but very rural…The roads are mostly farm tracks. Some no more than 10 feet wide.Views lovely.
