Guests say

Guests consistently praise The Pennymoor for its stunning views, high standard of cleanliness, and the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The lodge's thoughtful touches, such as pre-heated hot tubs and welcome gifts, contribute to a welcoming and comfortable stay. The property's location offers beautiful scenery and opportunities for walking, while the wood-fired hot tub is a highlight for many. Overall, visitors leave with a desire to return, often citing the lodge as a perfect getaway for tranquility and rest.

Reviewers frequently mention the exceptional cleanliness of the lodge, with comments highlighting top-notch maintenance and spotless conditions, contributing to a comfortable and pleasant stay.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views, peacefulness, and proximity to nature and walking paths. However, some guests noted difficulty finding the lodge in the dark and navigating narrow roads, slightly impacting the score.

Comfort is a standout feature, with guests expressing satisfaction with the cosy and modern amenities, comfortable bedding, and the overall relaxing environment of the lodge.

Facilities are well-received, especially the wood-fired hot tub, though there is a mention of initial difficulty in operating it. The lodge is equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, but a suggestion for better lighting near the parking area indicates a minor area for improvement.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident through the provision of welcome gifts and pre-heated hot tubs, enhancing the guest experience. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it is politely noted that such extras, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Visit Tiverton, the largest town in Mid Devon, for historical relics like a charming castle and horse-drawn barge excursions on the picturesque Grand Western Canal. As a prosperous textile town with numerous beautiful structures, Tiverton benefited from its strategic location on the Exe and Lowman rivers. These include three mediaeval almshouses, the Jacobean Great House of St. George, and the magnificent parish church of St. Peter with its amazing frieze of commercial ships with billowing sails. Another well-known structure is Old Blundells, which R.D. Blackmore, a former student, immortalised in his novel Lorna Doone. However, the stunning Tiverton Castle, a royal castle ordered in 1106 by Henry I, is the town's most well-known structure.
