Further afield, Exmoor National Park starts just 16 miles away and offers ample opportunities for long rambles over remote moorland and deep wooded valleys. There are plenty of options for cultural activities, too, including the National Trust Arlington Court estate (15.5 miles) and Watermouth Castle 12 miles away in Ilfracombe.
