The Promenade Deck is a beautifully presented three bedroom, two bathroom, duplex apartment situated in the pretty village of Kingswear. There are stunning River Dart and rolling country views from many of the rooms and balcony. The kitchen and bathrooms are equipped to a good standard and on road parking is available outside the property. It is just a ten minute walk down hill to the quay, ferries, steam railway station, village shop, bistro, café and two public houses which both serve food. Rolling sandy beaches and scenic golf courses are within easy reach.
There are low ceilings, doors and/or beams within the property.
Linen AND towels: Linen and towels will be provided for each guest in the party. Please remember to bring your own beach towels.

I recently stayed at The Promenade Deck in Kingswear, Devon, and unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing due to the overall lack of cleanliness and basic hygiene standards.Every room in the property had visible dust and cobwebs, giving the impression that it hadn’t been properly cleaned in quite some time. The cutlery and glassware were all dirty and clearly not washed before our arrival, which is completely unacceptable for guest accommodation.The balcony had cigarette ends left behind, and inside the property there were multiple silicone gel packets left within easy reach — a serious safety concern, especially for families with children as these are potentially harmful if ingested.In the kitchen, I found mouse droppings on top of the cupboards, which raises major concerns about hygiene and pest control. The sofas were also in a poor state, with visible food debris, dust, dirt, and even an old receipt dated from 2024 left behind.The bedding was not up to standard either — there was hair in the bed and it did not appear to have been properly changed between guests. Carpets throughout the property were covered in crumbs and did not look like they had been hoovered.To make matters worse, there were multiple leftover items from previous guests, including food, which only added to the feeling that the property had not been cleaned or prepared properly at all.Overall, this stay fell far below expectations. Basic cleanliness and hygiene are non-negotiable for any accommodation, and this property seriously needs to address these issues before hosting future guests

We have now stayed at The Promenade Deck, three times. It's a very relaxing place to stay. The only not so good thing about it is the downstairs shower room. It has a very large, draughty window so in the winter, which is when we go, it's a very cold room and doesn't compel you to use the shower. This isn't a problem for our family as there is a nice bath in the master bedroom which we use instead. We can't wait to go again, it's definitely now our go to relax and unwind place
