Guests say

The Promenade Deck in Kingswear is a well-loved holiday rental with stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. Guests frequently return, praising its cleanliness, location, and comfort. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the property's charm and amenities generally leave a positive impression. The steep access steps and limited kitchen space are occasional drawbacks.

Most guests find the property clean and well-kept, though one review suggests it could benefit from a deep clean, mentioning marks and scuffs as well as mould on window frames.

The location is highly praised for its excellent views and proximity to local attractions, including Dartmouth, the steam train, and pubs. The frequent ferry service is also appreciated.

Guests describe their stays as relaxing and comfortable, with a warm and cosy atmosphere. However, the draughty downstairs shower room is noted as a drawback in colder months.

The property is generally well-equipped, but feedback indicates a need for more kitchen workspace and a larger fridge-freezer. Some furniture appears tired, and the property could benefit from maintenance.

There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

We have now stayed at The Promenade Deck, three times. It's a very relaxing place to stay. The only not so good thing about it is the downstairs shower room. It has a very large, draughty window so in the winter, which is when we go, it's a very cold room and doesn't compel you to use the shower. This isn't a problem for our family as there is a nice bath in the master bedroom which we use instead. We can't wait to go again, it's definitely now our go to relax and unwind place

Third visit here , lovely property with excellent views across to Dartmouth, very clean and well equipped. Would highly recommend

We enjoyed an autumn break at The Promenade, especially the beautiful views across to Dartmouth and up to the hills. Kingswear is a great place to explore. We had an excellent meal at The Ship where the beer was good and the staff very friendly. Also, we used the shop for a few bits and pieces. The steam train trip to Paignton was fun and allowed us to see more of the countryside. The National Trust property, Coleton Fishacre, is a very short drive away and both the house and garden are well worth a visit. The ferry across to Dartmouth runs frequently and the town has an interesting mix of shops and places to eat.At the property, we found getting our luggage up the steep external steps more challenging than we had anticipated, especially as the hand rail changes sides on the final few steps. The apartment was warm and comfortable. Personally, I didn't find it as 'spotless' as other visitors had reported. Some towels were stained, the toaster was heavily marked and there were many marks and scuffs on the paintwork and furnishings. Some of the furniture looks tired and due for an upgrade. Generally, it felt like the property needed an end of season deep clean to smarten it up.It's difficult to keep an older property adequately ventilated but the mould on window frames is not attractive 🥴We would like to return in warmer weather to enjoy this location again.
