From the living room, balcony and decked garden, the pool can be viewed so it is easy to keep an eye on the youngsters enjoying themselves splashing around and having fun. The living area boasts high vaulted ceilings with oak flooring, with large glass windows at one end opening onto a large glass balcony overlooking the swimming-pool. Both double bedrooms are en-suite and have French doors which open onto the decked garden.

The holiday property is located just outside of Ivybridge in close proximity to the A38, in countryside ideal for horse riding; many of the fields surrounding have horses and stabling. Ivybridge is located on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and a short drive leads up onto the open moorland. In the other direction heading towards the coast there are many beaches, all approximately half an hour’s drive away, including Mothecombe, Bantham, Bigbury and Wembury. Plymouth city centre is 7 miles away with its historical Barbican and Hoe, as well as theatres, cinemas, bowling, pubs, restaurants, concert hall, ice skating, aquarium, ski slope and night clubs. The photographs on the website are out of date e.g. the living area is not at all like the pictures, furniture worn and hidden with throws. Decking areas are patched worked new and old. I actually put my foot thru a rotten board, fortunately was not hurt. there is no longer a view over nearest fields from the pool or lodge. Better maintenance and TLC is required. The pool was only used once as did not feel it was safe due to being dirty and brown stains on the bottom and sides of the pool. Kitchen utensils need upgrading. Door handles loose, twin bedroom bathroom handle came off in my hand. Also outdoor furniture around pool dirty and wooden furniture rotten in some parts. The location and views are nice and convenient for exploring. However, I was truly disappointed with our stay and upset that the money we paid for a luxury lodge and pool was completely misleading. I am sorry I have, had to leave,a poor review but it feels the owners have just neglected the property for a long time. I feel for those who have already booked because they will also feel the disappointment we felt during our stay.

Lovely, comfortable lodge. Brilliant views from open plan lounge.

Some photographs on the website are out of date e.g. there is no longer a view over nearest fields from the pool or lodge due to high laurel hedges. Better maintenance would helpful e.g. some wooden doors stick; there was a broken blind mechanism; some lights flickered on and off in the bedroom/bathroom by the front door; oven door doesn’t close fully and the two frying pans and baking trays need replacing. However, the location is convenient for access to SW. Devon attractions and pool itself was really nice - we used it every day and the beds were comfortable.
