Friendly and welcoming hosts. The Coach House is a self-catering facility - comfortable and pleasant, with very good facilities. It was light, warm, and well designed, situated next to South Allington House, a large impressive Edwardian building The Coach House, converted to self catering premises in the 1990s was sited close to severalother buildings, other than the great house - some of which seemed quite old and of historical significance - possible a ruined church. There were other interesting features within the grounds of the property - ponds,, tennis courts and places to explore and endless miles of intriguing country lanes further afield, bursting with an abundance of wildflowers and flowering shrubs and trees, not to mention some notable mature trees and shrubs. The Coach House was comfortably furnished, with views and easy-access on to the lovely garden and wider grounds. A few suggestions: Maybe I did not look hard enough but I could not track down a pair of oven gloves. I would have used them if I could but managed with a hand towel instead. .My mobility is not very good but I managed the staircase, although perhaps an extra bit of handrail on the left hand side at the level of the top 3 of the lower part of the staircase would have given me something to hold on to when going up and down the top 3 or 4 steps at that level. Just a small point but I thought it worth mentioning.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Coach House Cottage. It was extremely spacious. and very well equipped. We had everything we needed and more. The accommodation is situated in large grounds. It was peaceful and quiet and only a short drive to walk on the coast path.

The cottage was in a nice quiet location (ignore Satnav though as it may take you down very narrow lanes!). It was warm with all the amenities you need, good value and a good base to get to the beaches and towns of South Devon.
