Nestled in a quiet, secluded position, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and surrounded by National Trust farmland, Hazel Cottage is an attractive farm property with lovely views and parking for two cars. Guests can expect peace and tranquillity in abundance, and can enjoy numerous walking opportunities, with the South West Coast Path easily accessible. Walk through the delightful valley to the secluded beach Soar Mill Cove, only accessible on foot, or venture further towards Salcombe or Hope Cove. Salcombe and Kingsbridge are three and five miles away respectively, whilst the village of Malborough, with its pubs, small shop and post office, is just a 2-3 minute drive or 30 minute countryside walk. Recently extended and updated to provide a good standard of accommodation throughout, the property has a cosy sitting room, beautifully finished kitchen/dining room, shower room and double bedroom all on the ground floor. On the first floor there is a second double bedroom, and a twin room with zip and link beds which can be set up as a King-size bed (please request at time of booking). At this level there is also a small 'snug' room, ideal for children, with sofa/day-bed, plus a family bathroom. Outside, the property has a large terrace with lovely views, picnic table and built-in barbeque - plus a mature garden with good-sized lawn, trees and shrubs, and a further courtyard with a shed/utility room. Sleeping up to six people, this delightful property is in beautiful surroundings and is perfect for a family holiday.
The attractive village of Malborough boasts a multitude of thatched cottages, a village shop, two excellent country pubs and a thriving post office. It is located just 2 miles from the popular sailing town of Salcombe, with an array of popular shops and restaurants. Boasting a beautiful, scenic coastline, Salcombe is ideal for enjoying sailing, watersports, coastal walking or for simply soaking up the sunshine. Observe the plentiful wildlife in the area, including the clifftop area of Bolberry Down, visit several country houses and gardens close by or explore the nearby market town of Kingsbridge. Alternatively, drive to the National Park at Dartmoor, just 15 miles away. A perfect holiday location, with much to see and do.

We have stayed at one of the other cottages before but wanted a secure garden this time for our dog. The cottage was very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. A very peaceful location and we had a couple of sightings of the Peregrine Falcon, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel from the cottage. Lots of walks from the cottage with Soar Mill Cove not far and Salcombe a ten minute drive. There are two steps down from the front door into the hallway, then three steps down into the kitchen so this cottage would be harder for anyone with mobility issues and I don't think these are listed in the description. There are six steps down from the car parking area but these are listed online. We have no complaints about the cottage but a large frying pan with lid or small lidded casserole dish would be nice. Also, it would be nice if the lawn was shorter to make poop scooping easier.

We were there for a family wedding. Easy walk from the door to Soar cove which is a spectacular setting. Access by road to the cottage is not easy.
