Coxswains Watch in Salcombe offers stunning views and a central location with spacious, well-equipped accommodation. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and the convenience of the property's proximity to local amenities. While some guests have highlighted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall experience is enhanced by the property's charm and the picturesque setting.
Several reviews mention cleanliness issues, such as a dirty wet room and items left by previous guests. Despite efforts to address these concerns, the repeated mentions suggest room for improvement.
The property's central Salcombe location with spectacular views is consistently praised. Its proximity to local shops and the harbour is a highlight, although parking challenges are noted.
Guests find the beds extremely comfortable and the living spaces spacious and cosy. However, some guests struggled with the stairs and the property's layout.
The property is well-equipped with a good kitchen and extra amenities like a spare fridge. However, comments about outdated white goods and the need for maintenance in outdoor areas suggest some facilities could be improved.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.

Lovely house with great view. The kitchen / lounge is clean, modern, spacious and airy. The amenities are also of a high standard...the large screen TV in lounge was top class for watching Euros football! Having a washing machine, dishwasher, tumble drier and extra fridge in utility room was also great. The main bedroom is super with king size bed and modern furniture offering loads of storage. Bunk bed room and 2nd bedroom lacks storage...maybe put a wardrobe in landing area? Only two slight negatives I'd flag are that the back terrace is a bit of missed opportunity that could be more nicely done out and maintained, as well as the hall, landing and stairs would benefit enormously from a lick of paint and carpet / flooring upgrade.

We love to stay here in the centre of Salcombe but still quite above the hustle and bustle and with panoramic views over the harbour

Situated in the centre of Salcombe, the property is in a great location and it's a pleasant 10 minute stroll to the car park for which a pass is provided or similarly to find street parking for additional cars.
