The heart of the home is on the first floor, where you can catch up on your day's excursions at the delightful dining table or rest on the sofas while enjoying the magnificent clean waters of Salcombe Harbour glistening in the Devon sunshine. The kitchen, also on this floor, is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious meals during your stay. Shipwrights Cottage is just a short boat ride from East Portlemouth and many beautiful beaches along the coastline, or you can take a leisurely stroll down to North Sands, for your morning and evening walks by the sea. Discover the exotic and unusual at National Trusts - Overbeck's Garden, and be in constant awe of the natural beauty of the Moor Sand Cliffs. Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.

    Nicely furnished and everything you need. Stairs are steep but quite wide and safe. As everywhere in Salcombe parking on street is difficult. Be prepared for a nice 20 min stroll through town to the long stay car park after you have unloaded your luggage.
