Guests say

Windy Heath is a well-received cottage in Salcombe, Devon, praised for its stunning views, lovely garden, and warm swimming pool. Guests appreciate the property's spaciousness, new kitchen appliances, and the owner's personal touch. While some guests suggest improvements such as better mattresses and updated furniture, the location and overall experience are highly regarded, with many looking forward to returning.

The property is generally described as clean, with one review mentioning it was 'beautifully clean'. However, there was an isolated complaint about a pile of dog poo bags, which was quickly addressed, and some personal items left in drawers.

The location is highly praised for its exceptional views and proximity to beaches and amenities. The serene setting and the convenience of nearby attractions like Pennywell Farm and Woodlands add to its appeal, despite some comments about narrow lanes typical of the region.

Comfort receives mixed reviews. While the property is generally found to be comfortable and suitable for families, several guests have raised issues with the mattresses, suggesting they lack back support and need upgrading.

Facilities are well-regarded, especially the heated pool and well-equipped kitchen. However, there are suggestions for additional items like a travel cot and a larger cafetière. Some guests experienced maintenance issues with appliances and the pool cover, which affected the score.

While some guests mention the lack of a welcome pack and the need to request items like a BBQ, there is not enough consistent information across the reviews to accurately score thoughtfulness. It should be noted that while gifts and welcome packs are appreciated, they are not guaranteed.

The house and Pool are amazing. We had a brilliant week with the weather so loved to go in the heated pool . The house had everything we needed, thank you. Amazing views too. Would highly recommend Windy Heath.

Lovely place for families to relax and also enjoy Salcombe from its quieter end. Need to be fit for the return climb uphill from the beaches but it’s worth it.

Signals for the phone & wifi is a little sporadic, due to the hills, but was not a problem for me as i like to switch tech off for some of the holiday. We decide to walk to Salcombe, which took about 40 minutes along the coast road and rewarded ourselves with an ice cream before spending a lovely afternoon strolling around the town. The sun was shining most of the week so we spent more time by or in the wonderfuly looked after pool more than we thought we would. We would definitely think about another holiday here, brilliant week.
