Fernwood offers an array of unique features designed for effortless family enjoyment, including a private seasonal outdoor swimming pool, games room, two characterful sitting rooms, a barbecue area and lush gardens, making it a perfect base to relax and unwind together.
This spacious property spans across two floors, situated on a hill, enter onto the first floor. Here, you are welcomed into the sociable open-plan kitchen, dining, and sitting area. The sitting area boasts comfortable sofas and chairs, a wood-burning stove, Smart Television, exposed stonework, and a characterful baby grand piano. French doors open onto a covered terrace with outdoor seating, offering stunning countryside views across rolling fields towards the charming town of Totnes. The kitchen is superbly equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher, while the adjoining dining area comfortably seats ten guests.
From the dining area, there is a door leading to the hallway where three lovely bedrooms await. Bedroom one sits at the end of the corridor, boasting a sumptuous king-size bed, en-suite shower room, and patio doors leading directly to the swimming pool area. Bedroom three is complete with a double bed, while bedroom four provides twin single beds, perfect for younger guests. The family bathroom completes with the first floor, beautifully appointed with a bath with shower over, wash basin, WC, and heated towel rail.
The second door from the dining area leads you to the ground floor. Please note, the staircase is narrow and steep, so therefore may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. On this floor, you will find an additional sitting room complete with a large Smart Television, stone fireplace, comfortable sofas, and French doors that open to the tranquil lower garden, nestled amongst the trees. For entertainment, there’s a pool table, air hockey, darts area, and a mini bar area, ensuring fun for guests of all ages. Bedroom two is situated off the sitting room, with a king-size bed adorned with soft linens. There is also a convenient utility room with a washing machine, additional fridge/freezer, and a separate shower room to complete the ground floor.
The expansive outdoor space is a true haven, featuring lush lawn areas, a charming patio with a barbecue, and a private heated outdoor swimming pool, complete with plenty of sun loungers for basking in the Devonshire sunshine. The pool, open from the beginning of April to the end of October, is heated using eco-friendly solar power and an air source heat pump. Please note, it is necessary to keep the solar blanket on the pool to retain heat, and must be replaced after swimming each evening. If the blanket is not replaced, we cannot guarantee the level of heating will be maintained.
