Old School House would be a perfect fit for a family and their canine companions to delight in a wonderful break away to the coast, enjoying proximity to the coast as well as the countryside. Begin by setting your things down in the roomy hallway, hang up your coat and begin the exploration. Find a bright white kitchen off the hall, a modest room containing all the appliances you need for your self-catered stay, including an electric oven with a gas hob, prepare your evening meal as you glance out of the windows to the pretty neighbouring village houses.
Pass through the large hallway again and into the living/dining room where you're sure to enjoy much of your time, get snug on the leather sofas before the electric log-effect fire set within a gorgeous exposed brick fireplace with a sleeper log for the mantel, adding buckets of character to this homely space. A TV sits next to it for your entertainment, while behind the sofas lies the dining table with soft seating, it's a great place to have some quality time with a family meal. Head up to the bedrooms in the evening as the night draws in, choosing from the super-king-size, king-size or the single room, with all featuring sloping ceilings and velux windows as well as the super-king-size having the ability to turn into a twin with the help of zip/link features.
On sunny days you can enjoy the enclosed garden outside and sit at the patio furniture to soak in the rays before you head out for the day. A great way to begin your holiday would have to be to walk along the coastal path, take in spectacular views, trek up and down the rugged coastline and maybe spot some local wildlife. For a day at the beach there's no better place than Bude, under 10-miles away with plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants plus a classic seaside links golf course. Widemouth Bay is only 5 miles away, dog friendly beach all year round and a fantastic spot for surfing.....some saying it's got some of the best waves in Cornwall!
Tintagel, Boscastle, Padstow and Port Isaac are popular North Cornwall attractions which are all also within easy reach. You can even take a slightly longer trip over to the northern area of Dartmoor National Park, filled with miles of walking and cycling routes to enjoy for all different abilities. Old School House will be a perfect base from which to explore this corner of Cornwall.
Lying south-east of the popular surf-city of Bude, is the quaint village of Week St Mary, a sweet settlement filled with delightful properties and community spirit. A village shop run by the locals themselves is where you can pick up your essentials, as well as there being some excellent local pubs. Enjoy easy distance to the coast, letting the coastal path take you to other nearby villages while taking in the breath-taking scenery of the coast.
