Perfect location to meet up with relatives and further explore Dorset. Haven't been to Swanage or Poole since childhood. Some beautiful walks, blue sky days. Lucky! We echo others comments of comfortable beds, peaceful area, birds and wildlife (green woodpecker on the lawn), the White Horse Inn Stourpaine, and Gold Hill at Shaftesbury. Thank you.

We have had a great week at Byre House. Lovely house, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Great location for plenty of walks, The Talbot owners were very friendly and walking to Meggy Moos was perfect for milk, butter and eggs.
The H Family
A great week in this fabulous house, can't believe how quiet it has been. We seem to have packed a lot in, half a dozen National Trust properties, the two Thomas Hardy houses were particularly good and the small museum/memorial to the Tolpuddle Martyrs was worth a visit on the way to Dorchester. The provision of walking books has been very welcome providing good but not too demanding walks. We'll be recommending this house to our friends.
