About this property

Enjoying a fabulous coastal position with glorious views across the beach and out to sea, this spacious property provides cosy, refreshing and relaxing accommodation for seven guests. Originally built as a lookout for coastguards tracking down smugglers, this pretty 18th-century cottage has been lovingly updated to make a fantastic holiday home for families and friends. Close to Golden Cap, the South Coast’s highest point, this characterful property has been stylishly decorated throughout and makes a wonderful base for exploring this spellbinding part of the Dorset coastline.

Approached via a flight of external steps leading through the garden, this delightful stone cottage features a stylishly designed kitchen, refurbished in 2021. A couple of steps lead down into a leisurely dining area. Heading through an arch you will find the spacious lounge featuring a welcoming wood burner, Smart TV and plenty of seating - this is a perfect space for everyone to get together and unwind at the end of a fabulous day. The ground floor also has a cosy single bedroom as well as a useful shower room. A winding staircase leads to the first-floor family bathroom and three tasteful bedrooms: a double and a king-size room with sea views, and a twin room overlooking Golden Cap. Outside, the charming front terrace makes an ideal spot for a morning coffee. There’s also a fantastic walled courtyard garden behind the cottage.

The cottage is just 200 metres from Seatown Beach, with other beaches nearby including West Bay, Charmouth and Hive Beach (all within 7 miles). Seatown has a friendly inn and a seasonal shop, and is within easy reach of the historic coastal town of Lyme Regis (7.5 miles) and the bustling resort of Bridport (3.5 miles).
