The Retreat is a semi-detached, Grade II listed, stunning five bedroom country house nestled at the heart of the pretty Dorset Village of Burton Bradstock. Set just ½ mile from Hive Beach, on the world heritage Jurassic Coast, it’s perfectly located between Weymouth and Lyme Regis. The house itself is perfect for large family groups with stylish and flexible accommodation over three floors. The social hub is a large kitchen/dining room and is perfect to relax, cook and enjoy each other’s company. The stylishly furnished living room is the perfect space in which to relax after a busy day exploring.
The village of Burton Bradstock is a beautiful place to explore, with village inns, a restaurant and a superb café directly on Hive Beach. A little further afield is the harbour settlement of West Bay which is a spectacular place to while away a few hours. The pretty harbour has a back drop of stunning sandstone cliffs and beautiful beaches.
The Market towns of Dorchester and Bridport are a short drive away and offer a wide variety of independent shops and eateries. This luxury holiday home will have you enchanted from the moment you step inside, and will have you longing to return.

The Retreat was the perfect place for our family break, lovely spacious house with courtyard for bbq's and a fenced garden for the dog.Very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, relaxing lounge. It was great to have plenty of crockery, more than one dishwasher tablet and spare loo roll, these little things make all the difference.Great communication from Sarah, the host too.Visited Burton Bradstock several times as a child and a few times as an adult. Would definitely visit again if we can in the future and highly recommend The Retreat.

I booked The Retreat for my family of 10 , 7 adults and 3 children, to celebrate my 70th birthday. It was absolutely perfect ! Although on the High Street, there was parking for 2 cars behind the house and a back entrance through a lovely fenced courtyard with a big garden table and fairy lights. There is also a beautiful garden behind the car parking area with lots of seating areas and deck chairs. The children really enjoyed playing there. The rooms are all spacious ( apart from small bunk room but perfect for two children )and there is a lovely homely feel throughout all the house . The kitchen is very well equipped ( apart from absence of oven gloves!)We had a chef come in to cook a meal and she was very pleased with the facilities. The Retreat is ideally situated within walking distance of the beach and coastal walks. We went to The Hive Cafe and the Seaside Boarding house for meals. There is small grocery shop at a garage close by and two pubs in the village. I would thoroughly recommend The Retreat,
