The property is ideal for exploring local beaches and towns, and many appreciated the enclosed garden for dogs and children. While some noted the access lane is steep and bumpy, and a few areas could benefit from minor maintenance, the overall experience is restful and enjoyable. Thoughtful touches, such as welcome hampers, are frequently mentioned, though not guaranteed.
Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, with fresh linens and tidy interiors. However, a few reviews mentioned cobwebs, dust, and some tired décor, indicating occasional lapses in deep cleaning.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the Jurassic Coast, local towns, and beautiful countryside views. The peaceful setting is a highlight, though the steep, rough access lane is noted as a challenge for some.
Guests frequently mention comfortable beds, cosy interiors, and restful stays. Some minor issues with worn furnishings and sloping ceilings for taller guests were noted, but overall comfort is rated highly.
The cottage is well-equipped with kitchenware, lighting, and amenities for families and dog owners. Some maintenance issues, such as tired décor, tricky windows, and the need for garden upkeep, were mentioned but did not detract significantly from the overall experience.

The Stables was a delightful place to stay. The location was just what we needed.

Lovely cottage, well equipped, clean & comfortable. A rarity to cherish - dog escape-proof garden, our little Houdini terrier couldn’t get out, so we could relax! Sun spot to sit & enjoy the view, with friendly horses in adjoining field. Really pleased to have access to EV charging & the A35 which leads to all local destinations. Owners were on site, helpful but not intrusive. Great value for money.

Hard one to review because it is a lovely place & excellent location. The main reason for any low rating is the Access road is nigh on impassable as so steep, potholes and made of rough stones( i was worried we would get a puncture)....no word of this in the booking .The stables just needs a lick of paint everywhere & pay attention to detail. The shower head & hose needs replacing (I cleaned it on arrival)!& hair behind bathroom door i removed!!it felt a bit 'tired' & the TV is dangerously placed above a fire in the lounge(the tv got very hot when the fire was on so we had to turn the fire off on a cold night). We loved the location more than the accommodation sorry to say.
