While some mention areas needing a deeper clean and minor maintenance, the overall experience is positive, with many guests keen to return and recommend the property for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Several guests found the property generally clean and comfortable, but recurring comments highlight areas needing a deeper clean, such as carpets, bathrooms, kitchen appliances, and under furniture. A few reviews mention dust, crumbs, and maintenance issues, though most found these did not significantly detract from their stay.

The location is highly praised for its peaceful village atmosphere, easy access to Dorchester, Weymouth, and Dorset attractions, and proximity to local amenities like the Spar shop and pub. Guests found it an excellent base for exploring the area.

Lovely stay in location that was near enough to Dorchester and Weymouth but was quiet and peaceful with great facilities

Avoid booking this place.Building was stunning both indoors and out, plenty of space and so much potential but completely let down by how run down the place was and how filthy it was. I understand that, with people regularly staying, places sometimes are in need of some TLC which is hard to keep up with in terms of decorating etc but there is no excuse for how dirty the place was. There were crumbs on the sofa, leaves on the floor and dirt on the walls. There was mould in the showers, the kitchen sink and bowl were brown, the cupboards were filthy and there was a weird not very nice smell in the main kitchen/dining/sitting area. The beds were hard, very uncomfortable and creaky and had dog hair in them. I was beginning to question if the owners had come in to clean at all before our stay.We were so disappointed and felt so let down by this place that we only stayed one night and came home the next day. This is the most disappointing place we have ever stayed for such a ridiculous amount of money per night.

This is a lovely place to stay, with very high ceilings and lots of room generally. The village Spar shop is very well-appointed and the book and map shop has an incredible selection.
