Guests say

Bethel Cottage in Lyme Regis is praised for its tasteful furnishings, spacious kitchen/dining area, comfortable beds, and a sunny garden. Its central location is ideal for family breaks and exploring the town. Guests appreciate the welcome goodies and the property's proximity to amenities and footpaths.

Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage immaculate, while others reported dust, dog hair, and unemptied bins. The property seems to require more consistent cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for being central, peaceful, and within easy walking distance to town and local attractions. Its proximity to the river and footpaths adds to its charm.

Comfort is generally well-regarded with comfortable beds and a good-sized garden. However, there are comments about inadequate mattresses, thin duvets, and a smelly downstairs loo that suggest room for improvement.

Facilities are appreciated, such as the well-equipped kitchen, but there are several maintenance issues like broken wood burners, leaking taps, and inadequate fridge size. Some guests also missed basic provisions and outdoor furniture treatment.

Guests are delighted with welcome packs containing local goodies, indicating thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

The kitchen is lovely and the dining room is big enough to have family over. The garden is lovely and with the huge awning, it's perfect to sit outside and enjoy the running brook. It's a short walk to the front, so perfectly situated.

The beds are very comfortable and kitchen diner very spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed wonderful weather so were able to sit outside under the awning. The only negatives were the slightly smelly downstairs loo and that we didn’t seem to have an outside rubbish bin, or ‘basket/ bin’ for glass recycling. A pizza cutter would also be appreciated, but all in all a great and homely cottage.

A few improvements could be made, in the king size bedroom you could do with blackout curtains or blinds due to the street lights and sun rise. In the double room a larger mattress is required to fit the bed frame. The downstairs toilet/shower room had a rotten smell all of the time we were there, even after running the tap and shower. But overall the house was lovely. Thanks
