Offering a wonderful base for a family holiday, the property provides guests with the best of both worlds; a traditional interior with a wealth of features with all the mod cons any discerning traveller would expect. The visitor is greeted by the warm and welcoming sitting room which has original wood flooring, wood panelling, a feature fireplace and an attractive seating area, making it a wonderful space for socialising and getting into the holiday mood together.
Step into the charming kitchen/diner which comes complete with a delightful range cooker, original tiled flooring and all the facilities needed to cook up a storm with a rustic dining area completing the space. You can imagine spending many happy evenings here tucking into delicious meals and enjoying a drink and each other’s company. If the sun is shining then you can step outside onto the delightful terrace and soak up those rays while enjoying some holiday time alfresco. All that fresh air will no doubt have tired you out so choose from any of the four well-appointed bedrooms which include two doubles, a single or children’s bunk beds.
All are well-presented and offer a calming sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of holiday life. After a refreshing night’s sleep, you’ll be raring to go out and explore the delights of Dorset. Take a stroll into Lyme Regis and browse around the shops, head to the beach, harbour or causeway and go fossil hunting or have an informative trip to Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium and Lyme Regis Museum and learn more about the marine history of the region. Head out along the 630 mile long South West Coastal Path for an invigorating walk with some fantastic views along the way or jump in the car and visit attractions such as Pecorama Gardens, Axe Valley Wildlife Park, Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Seaton Tramway and Forde Abbey and Gardens.

It is well appointed with equipment and the bathrooms are newly refurbished. All of the beds are really comfortable. We had a lovely 4 night stay. 3 adults and 3 older children. However, the living area is very small and there is very little sound proofing between the floors. The stairs are very steep and the step deep so not suitable for small children or people with mobility issues.

The location is perfect and the accommodation is cosy, homely and certainly met all of our needs. It was great to sit out in the garden too. We have been visiting Lyme for many years now but havenât had the pleasure of staying at Lavender Cottage before - we plan to return to this little gem very soon!
