About this property

Enjoying a sought after location in Lyme Regis in Dorset, Wayside is a stylish detached bungalow and is perfect for families. The interior is sleek and contemporary and yet still manages to be warm and welcoming to its visitors. The open-plan living space has an inviting ambience with an extensive seating area arranged in an L-shape around the feature tri-folding doors which open onto the walled gardens, a particular feature of the property. The views from here are amazing and serve as a constant reminder of the wonderful coastal location. If the sun is shining then throw open the doors and take your drinks outside where you can keep an eye on the children in the gardens while you breathe in the fresh Dorset air, soak up the views and indulge in some quality grown-up time together. This is what holidays are all about. The attractive kitchen is fully fitted with all you could possibly need to create some fabulous cuisine for your family with an elegant dining area adjoining the kitchen and the ideal spot for the whole family to gather around and enjoy some good food and company. All that fresh air can be tiring so when bedtime calls you can select from a fabulous double bedroom which even has its own TV for the ultimate indulgence – TV in bed! The children have a cool bunk bed or single bed to choose from so everyone is happy and there is nowhere better to wake up in the morning ready to face the day. Before you head out and explore why not step into the ultra-modern shower room and enjoy a refreshing shower? Talking of exploring there is so much to do in and around Lyme Regis, there’s no time to waste. Wayside has its own private path leading directly onto Marine Parade and the waterfront further evidence of its enviable location. The delights of Lyme Regis are within walking distance with its narrow streets of shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants plus it also has a museum and an aquarium. If you want to go a little further afield then great attractions for the whole family include Tunnel Tree Tops high ropes and zip wire experience, Dinosaurland Fossil Museum, Seaton Tramway and Pecorama. If you fancy a scenic drive then nearby towns of Charmouth, Sidmouth, Bournemouth and Dorchester are all worth a visit. Enjoying a superb location in the heart of Lyme Regis, Wayside has it all.

The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer its visitors, boasting a maze of narrow streets filled with craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. Take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway overlooking the ancient harbour, where fishing trips can be enjoyed, or try your hand at fossil hunting in the area. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind. A holiday destination to savour!

We chose this cottage on the basis that it has an EV charger, but unfortunately this was not working (as reported by a previous reviewer). I reported this on the Monday, but no attempt was made to resolve this, other than the response that the charging company had let them down.

This was the only reason we spent more money staying here so unfortunately I can't recommend the property as it was very expensive for what you got otherwise. It was clean (except the tumble dryer, and some seem to have struggled to wash dishes up properly previously), warm and comfortable. However none of the gates into the garden from the outside locked despite being given keys for them. Good location and easy to walk into Lyme Regis.
