Our second visit to this beautiful, cosy cottage in an equally beautiful location was great. The facilities are superb, the icing on the cake being a utility room so you can travel light knowing there's a washing machine. We travel by public transport (train to Weymouth, bus on to Portland) and the bus stop is a minute away at the top of the road - perfect. The bus service on Portland is excellent for getting around and has a very frequent service. The cottage itself has loads of space including 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. The kitchen has all you need for creating meals/ baking etc. and the dining area's table can seat a good sized gathering. We've been visiting Portland for many years and it never tires: wonderful coastal walks; breathtaking views; nature in abundance; art; history - the list is endless. Mallams Cottage in Mallams, Fortune's Well is perfect to explore all over the island and further afield. The hosts are very helpful should you need to contact them and we thoroughly recommend their lovely property.

The cottage was impeccably clean, the kitchen and dining room were very well stocked. Plenty of towels and an immense bathtub. The rooms are good sized and each is cozy warm in winter. The appliances are modern, especially the dedicated laundry room. Lots of instant hot water.
