Cormorant View is a spacious house situated in a gated cul-de-sac within walking distance of the shops, restaurants, attractions and sandy beaches of Weymouth.
Internally this spacious accommodation is furnished to a high standard and offers fantastic views over the River Wey, nature reserve and town centre. A stairgate and stroller are also available on request. Externally, the garden offers the perfect place to sit and unwind, or enjoy a barbecue on a warm summer’s evening.
Cormorant View is set in the perfect location to enjoy Radipole Lake, either by enjoying the views from the property or walking around the lake amongst the wildlife. This is a great place for all the family to visit, with a fantastic array of birdlife, from finches and robins to the lesser known Cetti’s warblers and bitterns.
The shallow waters of Weymouth Bay provide fantastic conditions for kite surfing, wind surfing and sailing, and played host to a series of major sailing events in the 2012 Olympics.
For those in search of culture, Portland Castle is nearby and is considered to be one of King Henry VII’s finest coastal forts. Literary fans should head to ’Hardy’s Cottage’, the former home of Thomas Hardy, which has remained largely unchanged from the time Thomas lived there and is where he wrote ’Greenwood Tree’ and ’Far from the Madding Crowd’.

Stayed in July 26, first impressions was of neglect, overgrown garden making it difficult to both get out of the car and reach the front door. Door area dirty and full of cobwebs. On entering property met with 2 stained rugs. No hot water and boiler had an error message, was late at night so contacted the owner next morning, she knew of the fault but hasn’t got it fixed just tells you how to reset it, we had to do this every day. It’s a faulty part get it fixed. Mattress in single bedroom needs replacing owner knows but apparently it’s ok as usually kids that sleep in there. 2 single beds have damaged slats so the mattresses sag, half the pillows are lumpy (big big bear of mine). The en suite bathroom needs a complete refresh, the toilet seat was stained, the shower was covered in black mould and limescale, the sink taps were broken and covered in limescale and the boxing in was thick with dust and dirt, looked grubby. There was a broken window frame in the bedroom so the noise from the road was bad, the rear windows had not been cleaned in months, front ones were fine. The patio area needed a good sweep up and the shrubs cutting back as could barely get out of the patio door, we were going to bbq but it was still fulll of ash and the bars covered in food, must have been like it for months as the bbq cover was covered in debris. Overall the basics were clean, however lots of areas being missed with the cleaning. Everything is old and past its best which gives an overall feel of grubbiness. I did address these issues with the owner but she had an excuse for everything rather than accepting the problems exist and apologising.I was brought up in the hospitality industry and had a holiday cottage myself, my husband is maintenance manager for 8 holiday cottages so we know what the standard to expect is and cormorant view does not meet expectations. Our stay was at the early part of the summer season and a lot of the issues should have been addressed in the winter, the owners excuse was they’re busy year round.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Cormorant View. The place was spacious for a large family and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was ideal—just a short walk to the beach, local shops, dining, and attractions. Antoinette was an exceptional host, quick to communicate and help with anything needed. We couldn't have asked for a better holiday and would love to return.

A lovely modern three storey property within walking distance of the promenade and restaurants in Weymouth. A quiet local location with parking on the private drive.
