Milkmaid's Barn in Gloucester offers a spacious and well-equipped stay, with a wood-fired hot tub and BBQ facilities enhancing the experience. Its proximity to local amenities, the Forest of Dean, and dog-friendly nature make it a great choice for groups and families. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and the open-plan living area, ideal for socialising.
The property is generally described as clean and well-maintained, with guests expressing satisfaction with the cleanliness upon arrival.
The location is appreciated for its convenience to local shops, pubs, and the Forest of Dean, making it a good base for exploration and relaxation.
The property is praised for its comfortable beds and spaciousness. However, the open ceiling in the upstairs bedrooms affecting privacy and noise control slightly reduces the comfort score.
The barn is well-equipped for large groups, with amenities like WiFi and a hot tub. Some guests noted a lack of kitchenware and the time it takes to heat the hot tub, suggesting room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
While guests have mentioned the provision of tea, coffee, milk, and juice, there is no consistent mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate a level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, this score is set to null.

Very nice accommodation but missing certain essentials if you plan to cook for yourselves. For example no oven gloves / tea towels or serving spoons ( best to take your own).

We had a lovely time visiting as a large group. The space was open plan which was good for entertaining. However, this mean two of the bedrooms could hear everything as they had no ceiling. It would have been great to have some amenities such as shower gel, toilet roll etc for the price we paid.

We stayed at Milkmaids Barn for a long weekend with family. Really well laid out and accommodation was great. The downside is that the kitchen only had the very basics. It would sleep 10 but we didn't even have enough cutlery for that many people. Not enough pots and pans etc for doing a lovely home cooked meal. We made it work but it made it stressful. We would also have preferred a standard hot tub as opposed to wood fired. It took way too long to heat up and we couldn't use the first day and then it became extremely expensive to keep buying wood to keep it warms another extra stress. Now we know all this we would stay again but bearing all that in mind
