Guests say

The Clock House is a well-received cottage offering a comfortable and clean stay, with a well-equipped kitchen and cosy ambiance. It is situated in a quiet village with local walks and historical sites nearby. The host, Annabelle, is praised for her welcoming and helpful nature. Some guests noted the challenge of parking and visibility when exiting the property.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as clean and well-kept, with only one mention of dust and animal waste in the garden, suggesting minor oversights rather than a trend.

The location is appreciated for its proximity to walks and towns, though some guests note the busy road and visibility issues. The village's quietness is both a positive and a negative, depending on the guest's preference.

The majority of guests find the cottage comfortable, with a particularly comfortable super king bed mentioned. However, there are comments about steep stairs and uncomfortable mattresses in some rooms.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the kitchen, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as the need for new pans, a cracked shower head, and poor Wi-Fi signal in parts of the property.

While guests mention a welcoming host, there is no consistent reference to gifts or special touches that would fall under 'thoughtfulness'. Therefore, this score cannot be accurately provided.

Great house for a family to share and use as a base to explore. Extremely comfortable, clean, cosy and well equipped. Annabelle very welcoming and helpful. Some great walks close by and historical sites a short drive away. Village pretty but a little quiet but there is a friendly pub which does food. Waitrose in Stroud and a couple of very good farm shops nearby.

The Clockhouse was warm on arrival (and you have full control of the central heating system unlike some properties) & all the lights were on. Annabel welcomed us which was very thoughtful. The cottage is lovely, super king bed really comfortable & fab en-suite, being a couple this is all we used in the upstairs areas. Kitchen & dining area very well kitted out, pans could do with being replaced though. Lovely dining table for a family. However, cell service is near non existent in the property though the WiFi works well. The cottage is on a busy road, the electric gates help, but ideally you do need to reverse back into the drive, but still pretty much blind to your right driving out due to bamboo obstructing your view & being on a slight corner. We would also like to thank Annabel for her understanding around our mix up on departure date, this was the 3rd leg of a 3 week holiday & I thought I had booked a full week. I hadn’t, I had booked 6 nights. Annabel was a very gracious host when we left late as the next booking wasn’t arriving until the following day.The Bear Inn is a 3 minute walk from the property, check opening times. We did some lovely walks, highlights include a circular of Slad valley, we parked next to the Woolpack Inn & called in after the walkA circular of Bourton on the Water, Little Risslington & Clapton.Visited Stow on the Wold, Burford & we also had to pay a visit to Diddly Squat & The Farmers Dog!The Cotswolds are a stunning part of England, lovely walks & quaint towns.
