About this property

Enjoying a wonderful position on the fringes of the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty, found within the village of Draycott, is this annexe dwelling, Quarry Cottage. Just a stone's throw from Cheddar Gorge and the beauty of the Mendips, Quarry Cottage makes the perfect base for a couples' walking retreat. Make use of the two private parking spaces before grabbing your bags and heading inside this lovely abode attached to the owner's home, taking off your boots in the porchway and passing the cloakroom. Be welcomed into a spacious open-plan living room, the social hub of the house, with a large leather sofa and an easy chair being perfect spots to relax after a long journey or a busy day.

Flick on the TV or gather around at one of the two dining areas to set up a fun board game brought from home, whilst the chef of the group can hop back and forth as dinner cooks in the kitchen. Every essential appliance can be found in the contemporary kitchen, including an integrated double electric oven and a gas hob, with a washing machine convenient for any muddy walking gear! Head upstairs in the evening to rest and refresh for another exciting day, with a bathroom home to a roomy P-shape bath ideal for a long soak and a shower overhead too, and three delightful double bedrooms each offering tranquil sleeping spots and plenty of storage for your things.

The beds were comfy, as was the sofa, so we started each day in good spirits. The heating worked well and the lounge/kitchen/dining area was very generously proportioned: it seemed even larger than the photos suggested. Everything worked and the location was great. Less than 10 minutes to Cheddar, 15 minutes to Wells, and not far from the A38 for Bristol Airport or M5. And Draycott itself is in such a pretty location, looking over the Somerset levels nestled on the slopes of the beautiful Mendip hills. Watch out for gliders taking off at the top of New Road!

Well presented and spacious. The owners were welcoming and helpful when we accidentally left an item behind too!
