The property has been refurbished in 2019 with new furniture and appliances, but still retains many of the original features, the low wooden beam over the front entrance, oak beamed ceiling, and the original fireplace, now with a wood burner for extra cosiness.  The name Mill Batch (shared with the owner’s home, adjacent to the cottage) comes from the fact that the property is about fifty feet above sea level (high for the Somerset Levels!).  This makes it the ideal place for a windmill, and one was built here in the early 18th century.  The lane next to the property leads to the Hamlet of Perry, named. . .
